Fun game! I included it in my LowRezJam compilation, if you’d like to take a look :)
This is a nice entry, although not that much variation on the gameplay, the artwork was nicely done with its simple flat style and basic shadows. Animations of the characters are very fluid. The homage and creativity is very clear with the subway level and I like how we actually transition to the next scene instead of just cutting while the train is moving. The music was good, I would go a little beyond the chip limitations to make it more present. To improve the game, I think I would add more juice to it, some screenshake to make the hits feel more powerful and overall some diversity of how enemies react to you and how the player deals with them. Solid game nonetheless! Good Luck!
Thanks for the feedback! :D I'm on improving the game right now! Hope I'll be able to finish it :)
Really nice, captures perfectly the spirit of beat'em up games from back then! The graphics are really great too, loved how you made the transitions and the sound really does fit the game perfectly!
Great job there! :D
Thanks! :D
Nice throwback to the beat-em-up games I remember from the arcades.
Some ideas for ways to add depth, if you wanted to extend this:
- add health powerups
- add weapons
- add different kinds of enemies
I really liked the camera movement e.g. on the subway and the "GO" arrow to keep the player moving.
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm definitely going to implement all of that! :D
The look and feel are great. Works really well in the 64x64 resolution. The combat "feels" really good - player responds how I expect him to and contacts makes since when hitting or being hit. I would like to see more difficulty, personally. I think in the later levels the AI shouldn't hold-off as much. Would love to see you expand on a great foundation. Needs a boss battle!
Great entry!
Thanks for the feedback!
The fact that I couldn't manage to add bosses in the game makes me feel bad the most... I mean who needs a beat 'em up game without bosses? :) But I'm gonna fix that!
Very nice game.. I really liked it :)
Thanks! :D
This game is very well polished and pretty enjoyable! The graphics are pretty nice and you don't feel restricted with the view. I love how the music keeps going without feeling repetitive. :)
However, all levels feel the same as well as the enemies... I don't know if you could have the time to add items, like, i don't know, trash cans you could destroy or throw at the enemy (but just being able to destroy stuff would be nice). However, I find strange that with that level of polish, there is only one set of enemies. :( It feels really disappointing cause the game is really nice! I would have like the enemies to at least have different colors. There could have been guys in blue pants and they'd have like more health and stuff.
Thanks for the feedback!
I know, I should have been more focused on the mechanics and fun stuff in the game.. but as a programmer I tend to be more focused on the inner guts and forget about the most important stuff :(
Ah yeah, for me it's (usually, not in this jam) the opposite, I spend more time doing art than the coding :p
Woohoo, look at that guy kickin' butt in his pink pants! That was fun, hahah - hope there is a full game coming soon!
I hope so too! Thanks :D
This was REALLY great even though it seemed like it could use some more moves. its even more polished then I would expect in a game jam and all its really missing from being a complete game would be more moves, more enemy's, and combos. GL on the game jam.

Thanks! I'm planing to maybe make a full game out of this after the jam :)
That was fun! I wish u could find some "food" on the garbage haha! =) good job!
Thanks!
Yes! Food from the garbage was one of the things I planed :D
This was fun. The punches and kick had a nice snap to them.
Thanks! :D
The Battletoads / Double Dragon games were my favourite on the NES!
Your level design is pretty cool, I like the transitions between stages and the subway level was particularly well made.
And Battletoads and Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team is one of my all time favourite games :D
Thanks!
It had a great soundtrack too! :D
One of the best! :D
Amazing game, I like the music, a very good beat'em up, just greate work :D.
Thanks! :D
Super cool game, animations are totally awesome!
Thanks! :)
I love beat 'em ups! That's why I developed one as well for the competition :-D
The old arcade feeling is nice and the animation are nice as well, the walking of player and enemies are really cool.
The game has not much variety aside for the background but I totally understand since I have found very difficult as well to do a complete beat 'em up game. I would have loved to see enemies more challenging, I have finished the game easily at the first play and they attacked me just a couple of time when I was distracted by my wife that was talking to me.
Please let me know if you think to keep developing the game, I would be happy to play more and see what you can do with more time :-)
Thanks! I think I'm going to at lest implement some other features that I wanted. Such as bosses, weapons and maybe come up some plot :D
Nice beat em up. Characters animation is really great! Good job!
Thanks!
It's simple but very well-realized. Slick graphics and good music! Nice job! :)
Thanks! :D
Wow great game, I loved the art of the game very good, the "background" art is amazing, for real it is incredible, I loved the subway level, and the walk animation is awesome, he looks so badass haha The music is also very cool, great job, really good game !
Wow! Thanks! :D
I beat them ALL! 😤
It is a good beat 'em up you've done! Good work : )
Thanks! :D
