Really neat game. I included it in my LowRezJam compilation, if you’d like to take a look :)

The camera was definitely not my friend, and turning & walking felt somewhat slow. Great aesthetics, though! It's random, but your music made me think of Final Fantasy Legend, an old GB favorite.

Loved it! It's a great take on an over the shoulder survival horror here! The camera, sometimes, kinda bothers me a bit and sometimes it looked like the character got stuck, somehow, but the game's great overall! The atmosphere was really great and the sound effects do help you get in the mood!

I love this! The graphics are crude, but in a really stylish way. Maybe garishly gruesome is more accurate? Shooting is responsive, but melee is way too awkward. I suppose that's the point in way, but I could easily lose 2 hearts before managing to hit an enemy. The atmosphere is spot on! I got genuinely spooked at times (although, I'm very easy to scare). The chiptune hum had a lot of tension.

The only problems I had was the camera getting stuck on walls, the player sometimes getting stuck on corners and the aforementioned pathetic melee attack. Also I was dying for a strafe function! Were you going for Resident Evil tank controls? If the camera was better, I think this would be a non-issue, but as it is there's not enough time to plan your movement, like in Resi.

So a few technical quibbles, but otherwise a really impressive entry! Great job!

It looks great, but I was unable to play it because of the camera.

There is a lot about this entry that I like and other elements that I wanted to like more. The look and feel of your visuals are fantastic. The music and SE really sell the environment. I loved that you went third-person instead of first-person. Unfortunately, I think the third-person camera may have been a downfall here. There were multiple instances I found myself getting the camera clipped and stuck in the wall when swinging around to find a monsters attacking me. Some of this could have been resolved by not designing the levels so tight and claustrophobic - though I think that element works well for the games atmosphere. The monsters seem to clip into the player when attacking, meaning they aren't always in view of the camera depending on which shoulder it chose to go behind. I think adding audio cues for the monsters would help with the immersion while helping to balance difficulty a little - though having a single monster that has the ability to silently sneak up is nice touch without making them all surprises. Your interface design for the small resolution restrictions works really well and when the camera worked properly the controls felt great.  Overall I still found this to be an enjoyable entry.

Nice entry! The visual style is great, and the audio did a really good job of reinforcing the atmosphere. The camera did make it a bit hard to enjoy though; I found it was often clipping through walls, and at other times was angled such that I could barely see where the character was in relation to the rest of the game.

It feels like Im playing an atari 3D Game in an alternative reality. Love  the monster design also

Really nice game. The visual style is cool, and the atmosphere is surprisingly good considering it's simplicity. Out of the 3D games I've played this felt the most like it was designed with the resolution limit in mind (rather than just squashing something that would have worked better at a standard resolution). The gameplay is fun too and the sound effects add a lot. The one gripe I have is the camera - It's very awkward when in tight spaces. While the character sprite is cool, I think the game could have worked better in first person.

I thought this was pretty great. The game runs smoothly, I like the pixilated graphics, and it is suitable creepy. The camera felt weird at times, particularly in corners.  Very fun!

The camera took me a bit to get used to, but after that, I had a lot of fun!  The environment is really well designed and I love the audio.

Very well designed game. The music really fits in this game! Well done!

Go take a look at my game if you have the time.

Cheers.

👍 I love the simplicity of this game.  I kinda miss those tank-control horror games, and Don't Let Them In has a nice, eerie air of RE4 about it. I like the art style, and it has a certain abiguous charm in the designs that makes you use your imagination as to what they are.

👎 I struggled with the camera - often it clipped through walls, or came so close that I couldn't seen that my character had gotten stuck on a corner.

Hi Dan!

Thank you so much for the feedback. I really appreciate it! 3D cameras are annoying!
