Hey all!

What are you working on for this jam? Share your elevator pitch!

This will be my first jam on Itch and I'm super excited. Having a specific design brief (in this case: use the LUMEN system) and a submission deadline should make for a great burst of creative energy to produce a cool game.

LUMEN is cleverly designed to create a tabletop experience which evokes the fast-paced excitement of looter-shooter video games. I'm venturing into adjacent territory and using LUMEN to design a different type of chaotically fun gameplay experience.

My elevator pitch: A tabletop game inspired by the likes of Nintendo's Super Smash Bros.

The concept struck me less than 24 hours ago, and so far it's been one of those design experiences where the ideas are just flowing freely. Like I said, I'm excited! Keen to share it with you all later in the jam.

Hope you're all safe and well. Cheers!

I'm working on a Lovecraft inspired game where the players are guided by voices in there heads to solve mysteries by astral projecting into the great abyss. This is going to be my first publicly released game.

My elevator pitch for The Tutelary Society?

Ancient village guardians hiding in plain sight, protecting the city their villages grew into from physical and supernatural harm.

I'm working on a ttrpg version of Risk of Rain. Become stranded on an alien planet. Duct tape as many alien life forms and scavenged tech to yourself as possible. Explore a strange world. Escape, ascend, or succumb to the planet's many creatures.

A game about elemental reactions and explosive magical combat.

It won't be ready for a while but I'm excited

After\\Burner

Starfighter pilots who spout jargon, play erotic volleyball, and either date or fistfight their superior officers. Light ship customization and a phase of play where everyone at the table introduces elements of the coming mission.

Branches

A TTRPG based off one of my favorite video game franchises, Etrian Odyssey. It's a sprawling labyrinth dungeon crawler.

Emblems of their Dying Breaths is an action-exploration roadtrip RPG, inspired by games like Metroid and Persona 5 Strikers.

You play as a group of Scavengers who travel across the countryside in search of magical relics that twist and warp the landscape into impossible structures called "hideaways."

There's a free quickstart adventure that teaches all the basics step-by-step available now as part of the jam!

I got inspired by a random comment about having my best ideas when I'm half-asleep; that, combined with watching Doom Patrol, fermented in my subconscious for a day and produced Don't Wake Up!, a game about sleepwalking superheroes using the surreal power of dreams to save the world from legions of nightmare monsters.

I have been fiddling with a Cowboy Bebop Lumen for some time and want to get it finished soon :)

LOOM is a game about playing gods who have been tricked out of their seats of power and cast down. Seeking revenge on the one who tricked them, they now try to grasp their tangled threads of fate, weave together their destiny and reclaim their old powers.

The game's heavily inspired by Hades' power progression (temporary boosts and increases that grow as the Run goes on) and making choices on which path they take by choosing the types of rewards they want to acquire (weapons, powers, attribute increases etc).

Earlier this month I made the bare bones version of my game for the TRAN FUCKING RAGE JAM.
With this jam I'm hoping to refine the book, I've got a list of things to expand and improve.

The game is Reclaim Eternity, and the pitch is fringe cyberpunks and outcasts killing Gods Cyberangels, ripping out their guts, and using those to modify your body so you can kill more angels. All so you can steal gods miracle medical tech and use it to help those he rejects.

I've come into this jam quite late, I actually had exactly a month (and I think like, 3 hours?) when I joined in fact. But I've decided to make a LUMEN game inspired by Homestuck, and more specifically the only aspect of Homestuck that I still enjoy anymore, the concept of the SBURB game, expanded upon in the amazing SBURB Glitch FAQ fanfic.

Players of Homeward are Bearers, children ripped from their homeworlds to 'play' in The Game, a sadistic, multiversal game about maturity through any means. They go on quests throughout custom made planetoids designed to challenge them, whilst wrestling with an element that is in conflict with their greatest flaws, with the ultimate goal of creating a new universe, or reviving their old one.

I am working on yet another game for the Jam, after thinking about the consequences of some design elements in my previous entry and wanting to explore that direction a little more. That has lead me to Live: Survive the Wild, a game about being stranded in hostile terrain and having to survive until you are rescued, or make your own way back to safety. As well as fighting the beasts of the wild, PCs also have to overcome challenges & obstacles in order to get the resources they need to in order to see the next morning and also build tools that improve their odds. Still roughing out elements of play and how they interact with each other,  but I am enjoying the way this makes me think about game design.
