Fun and challenging, got 2:48! There should be some motivation to keep the player moving, as I found it best to just camp in a corner. The artwork is great, though there could perhaps be some better cues (visual or audio) for damage dealt and weapon status. I actually like the slow reload speed of the gun, but I struggled to cancel out of reloading, and got caught unable to fire a few times. This could just be due to a delay to fire after ANY reloading, but this isn't made clear. Sick game!
It's mental how good the graphics and presentation are for a 48 hour jam. Great job on that department. The game itself is alright too, even if there are some minor bugs.
The reloading feels weird and is kinda long, i would prefer it if i could reload while walking, but that is for you to decide xD
It would also be helpful to see how many bullets i have, other than that it is a fun game with nice art and it fits the theme :)
Love the shadows as the bugs crawl over the light sticks, very nice looking. I found it hard to tell when I had successfully killed an enemy, but it has real potential. Fun to play and grabs your attention. Nice audio (especially when I stayed alive long enough to hear the B section of the music)
The graphics are nice, but it gets repetitive after a while
Cool sound and visual design for a game done in 2 days. Reminds me of a mix between Hyper light drifter and Children of Morta. Which is a good thing.
Great graphics and sound, the game feel is a little sluggish but fun overall. Im notsure if there was an end goal or just survive as long as i can. I got 2:02!!!
Thanks for submitting!
Love the graphic and the atmosphere, I don't understand how to survive more than 14 seconds because I insta die for the scorpion or for another uknown reason.
Where's the ammo, exactly?!🤔 my bullets are over and couldn't survive!
Anyway, I had enjoyable experience. love the graphics!
I will add this to the FAQ on the page, since it's not explained in game. To reload you must not move, although this is something that we plan on overhauling to make it feel better and be more intuitive. Thank you for playing the game and hopefully this helps if you decide to try again!
The enemies being invisible in the shadows and you needing to throw the lamps was clever and unique, but sometimes the enemies didn't seem to die even if i hit them. Also at the end I think I ran out of ammo, because I kept spamming "r", but nothing happened. I'm not sure if that was intentional. Otherwise it was interesting and it could be great.
So far I haven't had any issues with enemies not dying, although it's possible that there were two enemies in roughly the same spot so when you shot them only one of them died. Then again, there was very little time to test for bugs, so it's entirely possible that you're experiencing a bug that I haven't run across.
In the current build you actually have infinite ammo, but to reload you must stand still and you reload one bullet at a time. Reloading is one thing that we plan on overhauling, since it doesn't feel very good or really accomplish our goals in it's current state.
Love the audio and the main character's animation. Super buggy at the moment but would love to play it when it's a bit more polished. Awesome job!
Even with all the stuff that's missing, it's a pretty sweet game when you get the hang of it.
Good job on the visuals and sounds too!
Thank you for the kind feedback!
Very well polished graphics!
Currently seems really buggy.
Thank you for the feedback! We hope to fix a lot of the issues after the jam. It's a project that our team is interested in expanding upon.
Looks cool but I seem to die pretty much immediately and not sure why. :|
We are still working on adding a description to help aid in ways we lacked time for during the jam. Hopefully the description will help players understand a bit more about the game so they don't have this issue! The reason you are killed is because the enemies are invisible in darkness, and you must strategically use light sources to survive against the enemies. This is of course no fault of your own, as this isn't even hinted at in the game, and the decision to start the player in the darkness is a pretty obvious oversight in retrospect. Thank you for playing though, and hopefully this will help in case you decide to give it another shot!
