Ah, thanks so much! Sorry that it was difficult 馃槄Given more time, we鈥檇 like to have various difficulty levels. I guess the downside to playtesting something a thousand times is it gets too easy for the dev but not for everyone else, haha. I鈥檓 really glad you did enjoy the feel of it at least!! It was nice to see you could figure out mostly everything.

I鈥檓 also not sure why it didn鈥檛 save your high score. It was working fine on my system before uploading. Maybe it鈥檚 a Unity WebGL issue / oversight on my end. But thank you so much!

yeah, I often run into the issue of balancing the game around what feels difficult to me, forgetting that I have been playing it through development and average play will not have that kind of experience :D
As for the high score, it's probably just because of WebGL, so not that much of an issue

The music in the intro is absolutely stellar and I wasn't let down in the actual game! Hitting escape was a little hard with how often I had to press it, but I LOVED the feeling of the "Cheat" being an exploit. Because there are legit games where you can beat levels by spamming pause and I just love the creativity of it.

I鈥檓 really glad you liked the music. I鈥檝e played the piano for 20 years now but always feel like my own compositions are really lacking. I鈥檒l take this as a sign to push forward and keep making stuff!

Thank you so much! We originally were thinking of having it be some sort of time mechanism or entering in cheat codes, but thanks (I guess, lol) to the time constraint of jam, we decided to just make it while paused. It definitely could have had more refining or a different keybind, but I think it was a unique start to something and I鈥檓 really glad you enjoyed it!

OMG!!! This game is crazy! I felt at the arcade during the 90s. It is so polished for being done in 7 days. Music is fantastic, atmosphere is perfect, gameplay is so well balanced. And also bosses! This is a super bullet hell. Really, I am impressed. Wonderful job! Perfect score for me.

Honestly, you deserve more ratings, this game is a pearl in this jam!

Developer

I鈥檝e always attempted these jams solo, so working as a team with someone took so much off my plate I could focus on play testing a ton, even if it was just random boxes for sprites for half of it.

I鈥檓 so glad you enjoyed it. Given more time, I鈥檇 love to really perfect the final boss, and in the future we鈥檒l definitely come back for more polish! Thank you a lot for trying it out! :)

Yes, teaming can definitely give a boost to projects, I understand that. Maybe I'll team too in the future. I am kind of scared to ruin other people jam, since I have a (time consuming) job, and I am afraid that I cannot deliver on time.

I really enjoyed this game! Everything seems on point and I really appreciate the effort you put into making all the art assets by yourselves (it is very well polished and plays very nicely)! This kept my attention for longer than most of the other games I have tried from the Jam!

To be completely honest I am in shock that this does not have more ratings because it was very enjoyable to play! (I do really hope more people check it out and try it!)

Fantastic Job and Game On!

Edit: I do also want to note that even though I made a bullet-hell/shmup style game too that I am not very good at them so I couldn't make it as far in this game as I probably should have haha! Either way fantastic creation!

Developer

Thank you so much for your kind words. Yours kept me playing longer than most other games in the jam for sure, too, haha.

A downside to playtesting something a ton of times is it gets easier to play / forget how hard it is for others, so at the very least if you keep playing it does get easier and you could make it to the ending!

But thank you so much for playing it and your kind words! :)

I played your game for over an hour trying to beat it on every mode. 5 stars across the board. Make more levels so I can keep playing. Fricken love bullet hell xD great job !

Developer

That鈥檚 wonderful to hear! I feel like with each jam I enter I end up making some sort of bullet hell and each time it plays just a little better, haha. One day I鈥檒l make one with many levels, difficulties, etc. Thanks for checking it out!! :)
