Use of the limitation
Wasn't my best use of limitation, I wanted to include it much more into the plot but basically your a reaper that is supposed to collect souls and give them to a guardian who opens more gates to reap more souls, instead you give them to a small shady guy who uses the souls to feed power ups to make you stronger.

Cookies eaten
11 white chocolate & macadamia

best game ever

Fun game and it's incredibly polished for a gamejam. Just think that you should have less hp but be able to regen it having no hp regen makes it incredibly annoying to accidentaly take a hit.

Submitted

Very fun! It would be cool if it were a bit longer though...

Developer

It will be one day!

Wow, this is some nice artwork and nice game

Fun game! Really enjoyed the art style especially! I like that it's a unique interpretation of the limitation. I like the mix of action and tower defense. Kind of like Dungeon Defenders, but without the build phase between waves.

The only thing that bugged a little was the melee enemies walking so close that you couldn't hit them.

Good job!

The game is quite fun to play, and the art is fantastic. Great Job!

That's a really solid game with amazing art! FYI: I got soft-locked on the 2nd level - all my minions froze, the waves stopped and the remaining counter was at -1 so I had to reset

Developer

Oh man, I'm gonna have to figure out how that happened, any clues like what wave you were on or if you were in the middle of building or something?

Submitted

I think it was around wave 5ish? I was down to very few enemies before it happened. You may just need to check if remaining is <= 0 just in case it goes under 0  somehow. I'm afraid I can't give much more info than that.. It was kinda random

Really enjoyed the art! It's impressive how polished it feels in only a week, you could release this on mobile and I wouldn't even know it was in a week!

I really enjoyed my time with this game! I haven't played a lot of tower defence games but I thought this was a really cool twist on the usual format. The use of the limitation was pretty lacklustre and I also got to a point where I was just sitting behind my minion towers and collecting souls but other than that it's a really solid jam game. I also very much approve of your choice of cookie :)

Developer

White chocolate macadamia is my jam, and thanks for playing! Making a tower defence is a little tougher than I thought, making one that's balanced in a week was over my head lol.

Nice game, really polished for being made in a week. Not sure the cheat is actually a "cheat", looks more like a choice. And what about the cosmic theme? I didn't get what is cosmic here :D

shhhh ;)

I wanted to make way more portals and have them going across time and space to different planets and eras, but then I spent like 6 days trying to get the mechanics I wanted down and I still wound up dropping a tonne of systems, like I have a bunch of spells (like the purple vortex) programmed to be used but I didn't get a chance to set proper values to them or a way to select them for use.

The short is my time management skills suck.

I couldn’t give the little guy souls :(

I couldn’t go back through the portal from the tower defense portion to the base portion so I had to die to go back.

Also, do the enemies get harder? With just a bunch of minion towers, I was able to get to a point where I’d just idle and collect souls for a seemingly indefinite period of time.

Pretty good polish though. I did notice that there would occasionally be a vertical gap in the clouds

Developer

you do not give the little guy souls directly, you just walk up to whichever plot you want to buy and press W. And yes, balancing the difficulty was tough with everything else we wanted to include in the game, it may be refined in the future if we have enough interest in the game. Thanks for playing :)

Great game, with more levels and upgrades it could even be a steam release!

Developer

Thanks, I'm really strongly considering it, I had a lot of fun making this and I think with a few more months I could add a lot more that I wanted to be in it.

Excellent game, had a lot of fun playing. Might be cool to see some consequence for our actions of cheating. However, combat within a tower defence is definitely a cool space to explore. Great work.

Developer

thanks for your feedback, and good point. Something we will have to consider for future updates.
