Pretty hard, but I liked the moody grainy aesthetic. I don't know if there was a break in enemy waves to do the upgrading, but I was quite unsuccessful in my quest to upgrade.
Thanks! Hmmm, maybe a bug, gotta check that.
Overall this was a really good game. Very impressed by how polished it is for a jam game, and especially a solo project.
It was very fun, but too challenging. I was not able to get a very high score. the enemies just keep coming so its hard to do things like repair or use the store. Did keep the action tense.
The audio was kind of jarringly loud, but it did feel like I was stomping around in a mech, blasting an autocannon. I prefer something more toned down and musical/atmospheric, but it was realistic and fit the vibe.
Visuals were good for a one-man team.
Very original concept overall! I think having just a bit more of a map - potentially with overlooks, funnels, etc - would make it a lot easier to manage enemies, repair, and upgrades. There was already variety in the enemies moves to learn and counter, just not enough space to move in.
Many thanks! Yeah, I agree. After I made the game I thought to myself if the map was big enough for the amount of enemies that spawned (which actually were way more), so reading you comment confirms my theory, I'll take a look on that. Thanks again for commenting about both the map and audio problem.
Very difficult but still a lot of fun! I especially love the visuals
Thanks!
Excellent visuals! The game did a very good job of capturing its aesthetic. A lot of factors left this game feeling exceedingly brief thanks to numerous factors (combo of health, timer, enemies, objective), leading me to not understand what I was actually supposed to be doing until maybe the 7th playthrough.
Overall, nice game.
Many thanks! Yeah, game still need a lot of work, like making a decent tutorial and not a wall of text made at 3 AM, polished gameplay, etc. And thanks for pointing out the problem with the what-to-do-in-this-game thing, I will make a better tutorial next time, one that makes clear what to do.
I think graphically this game looks very good. I like the retro style with the filter applied. I also appreciate the level of polish that went into the menus & presentation.
Thanks! The game still needs a lot of work and I personally feel the game a bit unpolished, but I appreciate you comment and makes me realize that it might be the right direction for the menu.
Pretty cool shooter,
i like the mix of managing your time to fix tank while shooting down the different enemies, i like the overall aesthetic with the low poly models and the "metroid prime - esque" border around your hud
and also bonus for the little bits of humor here and there like the start prompt XD
Haha thanks! I wanted to add more jokes but due to time constraints I couldn't. Thanks for playing!
Great itch page aesthetic! And nice game art with awesome mech stomping sounds.
Cool game design too, splitting your focus between defending, repairing, & restocking.
One minor annoyance; I kept clicking escape to get out of menus and it boots me all the way out of the game
But great work overall :D
Many Thanks! And the escape button problem is a bug, it should show a pause menu but as you say, it boots out of the game. I must check that out.
Cool game, I like the retro graphics.
Thanks!
