VERY FUN!!! I loved the chunky look of the mech, I totally felt the weight of it!

Developer

yes,  I went for weight and chunkiness, I am glad the intent went through ^^

Loved the vector aesthetic!

You mentioned 'style', and that's an important thing. Everything working together. Consistent package.

Developer (1 edit)

that warms my heart ^^

The name alone is already a winner. I want to play Mecha puncher so bad but I don't have windows. Is it possible to play for other platforms or in the browser?

Developer(+1)

you can play it on osx by dropping the .love file on love 2d app :^)

I can write some instructions on how to run from Linux?

Submitted

OK I'll try it for mac!

It's not working on my machine. I tried adding .app instead of .love but it won't launch. Maybe it runs on intel Macs only?

Developer

I will try in mac in cloud.

The combat is a tad clunky. It seemed it was easiest to use the punch if I was standing still, but I needed to've been moving to set a direction for the punch to go, and even if I had a direction there were times when I seemed to bounce off things that would otherwise be destructible. I don't think I'm the target audience for something like this, so I'll leave it at that.

Hi, yes I tried to make the robot clunky, in its blocking walk cycle, and my target was to force you to dash. I noticed during play test that it is counter intuitive to need a certain distance to hit things, that is a very valid comment.

Not every day that you see a takeback to early vector graphics XD

The game is pretty fun and i like how the instructions continue to appear on top just like if it was an oldschool arcade game, the fighting mechanics are pretty cool but i'll admit i didn't fully understand them at first. But once i got it it was fun ^^

Cool game :)

Thanks, you made my day ! ^^

It's certainly unique! I've never seen the LOVE game engine before.

Were the wireframes a stylistic choice?

Developer(+1)

yes like an atari vector game of the 80s ;)
