VERY COOL!!!! I loved starting out as just the pilot, it really makes you appreciate the power of the mech when you get in!!!!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words dbybr!

Cool prototype with great sprites!

Developer

Thanks mine host. I saw you take it for a spin on the live stream at the end. I will have a bash at making something that's complete now that the jam is over.

Awesome, can't wait to see what's next!

very short as it is, but lots of potential! looks good, level design using mechs could be interesting.

Developer

Cheers trabitboy! I couldn't go ahead and crunch for this jam. Thanks for taking it for a spin in it's current state!

This is awesome so far! Love the name too. Really pretty and I can definitely see it going further

The camera movement is a cool touch but it made me a bit motion sick when it moved back/forward quite fast.

Great work :)

Hi johnjoemcbob, a good camera doesn't get noticed by the player (a wise dev once said). So I can see that this needs some tweaking. With small resolutions I want to give the player a chance to see what they are aiming at and not have the hero always at dead centre. I have also noticed some outright jumps so rework is needed.

Thanks for playing , the feedback, and encouragement! It's really rewarding having someone look at your work. Sorry for handing in something in such a state.

No need to apologise! I also had to rush my entry lol, and yours felt very polished and a great success overall as I say :)

Nice concept,

and i like the progression idea where you start on foot get a few upgrades and then can get inside your mech.

Too bad that it's unfinished as you said :(

but what's there is cool i like the NES style sprites and the color palette, cause i imagine that if you plan on adding more areas you could have them have their own specific palette and such, the directional aiming when in the mech is also a nice touch,

the one thing i feel is a bit weird is that since you put Up as Jump, when you're in the mech you constantly jump around when aiming up.

Other than that it's a solid prototype and it would be cool to see where you take this if you plan to keep working on it.

well done :)

Hi Wolf, I totally get what you mean with the aiming and jumping. Jumping needs it's own button. I want to keep the controls simple, but two buttons for actions should be OK... And then also another button to disembark.

This is not the first game where you also have to run around on foot sometimes. The intention is that you can switch mechs this way to perform different tasks. It also conveys the concepts of scale of the big metal machines and vulnerability when you are not in the armoused shell.

Thanks for taking it for a spin and your comment. I have already been working on the game again. (But only a few hours here and there.)

No problem :)

like i said i like the idea, it's very Blaster master like but with it's own spin added on top, and i totally get what you're going for with the scale and you got it right
