Amazing work! The concept alone is fantastic, but the level design showcased is strong. This might be a personal gripe, but I found the controls very hard to get used to, especially when you're trying to time three consecutive hits while also dodging a homing attack. Perhaps a more gradual increase in difficulty would ease the player into the mindset better. Regardless, well done with the project.  The audio's good, the monster design is great. The dash and the laser together form a connection so unique and fresh I really hope you continue after the jam. Looking forward to seeing more wild power-ups. Keep up the good work!

thanks so much! yeah the difficulty curve is too steep, knew that would be the case when putting the map together the day b4 submitting.

the laser would actually lose charge if you missed (making you position yourself where you wanted to use it) but i didn't go with that for the jam so its easier (also didn't come up with a easy way to teach that mechanic). but good job beating it!  id really like to continue this project (still got to finish my previous mvm game atm)

Really liked the gameplay, dashing around to kill enemies was cool. Liked the music and the graphics as well. Good work!

Developer

thanks! glad you liked it

Controls were a trip, I found the key is to let gravity help in movement while dashing. Really neat way to move around. The only issue was in its precision when hitting objects, made it tough. When I got to the boss like enemy, it made a ton of sense to have controls like that as it made the battle pretty intense! Nice work

thanks for playing! I've thought of several ways i could make the controls easier to get used to. the idea was that you linger in the air after dashing so you can reposition yourself for the next dash

yup that lingering in the air was so clutch! I loved how you guys did that, gotta use the powers of gravity =D I enjoyed the challenge of the mechanic and it made movement really fun

I like the enemy designs and music! I found the controls a bit difficult to get used to. Good job.

thanks for playing!

I found the controls a bit difficult to get used to.

that'll get addressed one way or another, i needed a chance to test it on more people.
