pretty fun game

looks great and plays well to

really liked the animations and sounds, made things feel polished

enemy attacks are fast and can sometimes feel unpredictable

just spammed attack against the second boss since it was difficult to figure out and that's what worked

also i got a bug where there are giant black squares covering enemies when i went underground and they move around like they're patrolling (guess an enemy sprite didn't load in for whatever reason)

Developer

Hey thanks for playing! I don't think I've seen that bug before. What browser were you using?

chrome, might be an outdated version

This game is so cool! I felt like I was Mega Man combined with The Mandalorian! Rad vibes!

Very well designed project! Movement feels great, combat's fun, and the enemies are nice and varied. I don't have much to add that's already been said - it's hard to poke holes in this one - but as rhum stated below, the enemy attack patterns are hard to anticipate and dodge. Especially in the 'underground' section. Looking forward to seeing this project with post-jam polish, if that's the plan. Keep it up!

Thank you for playing!

We are still talking about what to do with the game post jam. All the feedback has been great.

I enjoyed playing it a lot. It's amazing you managed to create this much content in a month, good job. The controls are feeling very good, and the boss fights are kinda cool. The art is simple yet very solid and conveys the intentions of the characters nicely. You even managed to create menus and bindings! I think you really found the perfect project scope for this one-month jam!

The only gameplay problem I encountered is that enemies' attacks are quite hard to anticipate and feel a bit unfair, especially the first boss, but the fact that you can heal pretty often compensates for that.

Congrats guys, amazing job !

Thank you! Your game was pretty awesome.

We actually realized towards the end that there was hardly any telegraphing. We tried to tune around that, but I bet we could do more if we put in a wind-up for our monsters.

Nice game! Pretty graphics and awesome soundtrack. Different and interesting enemies.  Almost no bugs (except the moment where enemy shot me throught the wall). Function of remaping bindings is very rare for gamejams. Also i didn't get the purpose of these floating eyes. Is it just a save or it is also a fast travel?

It's just a checkpoint. We'll think of ways to make that more apparent in the future. Thanks for the feedback and I'm happy you liked it!

Great little game you got so far, played through to the end. Only gripe is it took me a few minutes to realise I could wall jump by hugging the wall and pressing the jump key haha. Otherwise great job :).

Thanks! We tried to do that part megaman x style haha.

Really liked  the retro style. This game me some star wars vibes, so that's cool. I liked that the player could heal themselves. Many games just auto-heal, which can be annoying. There was almost no story here though (at least in what I saw) , which was kind of disappointing, because that could have been a really cool story. Also, the mapping of attack to click is almost impossible to use on a laptop.

It is possible to remap keys in the settings. We did a poor job letting people know that settings is available.

We talked about a few different story lines, but that is a skill we are still developing.

Thanks for playing and the feedback.

Awesome!!! I was sad when it was hard to play on laptop, because it was a really fun game.

I did exactly the same thing :D

Thanks for playing and the feedback.

You're welcome!

(P.S. one thing I for got to say in m review was that I really liked that all of the controls were explained in game, and in a way that makes sense. That's not very common in games, and you guys did a great job of it.
