I don't have much to add, except that it feels like some of the gameboy games I played as a kid, and that it's absolutely amazing that you managed to make this in Scratch!

Great entry! The limited palette is pretty nice. I found myself wanting to struggle against the fragile code to get further in the game. I made it to the boss but died and didn't want to start over. The skulls and the skull explosions are pretty awesome, and the simple movement actually feels pretty good (especially that diagonal slash, which is a lot of fun to use). I would for sure play a version of this that had some issues ironed out.

Also, I liked the music too and I think it would be great with more variation.

Nice game! I loved the artwork. The simple control scheme made it easy to learn.  Also it's really cool that you used Scratch for this! I have heard good things but haven't tried making anything in it myself.
Great work!

Game seems to crash whenever you die :(
I dig the aesthetic a lot, the limited color palette and the retro feel is very nice! I also really looove the diagonal slash mechanic. It's really simple yet really fun, dual purpose, and it just flows, it's the perfect move.
The skull enemies were pretty good, they provided constant pressure and reminded me a bit of classic castlevania enemies. Shame they were the only enemy around though. I also kept running into the explosions like an idiot, I guess my natural instinct is that the explosion is safe because I just killed them. Once I started slicing them up with the diagonal slash though it stopped happening 😎

The music was reeeally repetitive, I think extending the loop and adding a B section would go a long way. It's also sad the boss didn't have his own music, it makes it hard to even tell he is a boss without that separation in mood.

It's cool though, I hope you polish it up after the jam! Also wait by Scratch do you mean this was made IN Scratch or from scratch? Cos either way that's impressive!

Oh, the idea with the B section of the music is great! Although I'm not really good at composing, I'll definitely try to write more melodies next time. Unfortunately I'm not sure if I want to finish this game, but with newfound experience, creating a new project (maybe based on the old mechanics, who knows) will definitely go better, and I won't have to glue everything together on the last day.

And yes, the game was made IN scratch 💀

Art style was quite good, The BG seems to me a little more repetitive so I can't keep up with the map
like relate to previous area, Liked Music, it had some retro vibes

Hi!

I liked you game. The controls felt pretty smooth and you definitely had some nice Metroidvania elements in there.  I really liked the way your healt system worked. Being able to build yourself a huge buffer by collecting more and more health felt really good. I would have wished for a little bit more enemy variety though.

The only other issues I had, that I couldn't see my characters feet most of the time and that the game closes after you lose :D

Really enjoyed the art style of the game very classic, I also really enjoyed the music but wish that  the reloop point wasn't heard so clearly. I agree that there could be more sound fx as well but overall I had fun playing the game. + that exploding skull animation is sick as hell

но титры бы хотелось конечно, чтоб меня в конце добавили, как позитивного парнягу, который поддерживал хорошее настроение всех 3,5 человек, участвовавших в этом, мы молодцы русские победят 💪🦾

Decent gameplay, just needs more enemies that are more interesting to deal with too. I liked the graphics, except the locks that looked like placeholders. Sound effects would also be nice, now killing the enemies doesn't have much oomph.

After the getting past the locked door I climbed up, went right and fell out of the map.

Not a bad attempt at a game. That said I have several remarks:

There is no pause state, and no in-game instructions as to how to control the character. Dying exits to desktop. The controls themselves feel a bit floaty. I would tighten them up. Holding the jump key pressed will make the character keep jumping whenever they reach the ground again.

Regarding combat: Keeping the attack button pressed after doing a dash will make the character do a regular attack when the dash ends. The skulls exploding is fine and could even make a fun game mechanic, but they are so slow that waiting for their explosion to go away is a complete pace killer at the speed they currently have. The damage knockback is not very good and it's easy to get stunlocked with how unresponsive the character becomes. This becomes an even bigger problem when certain room transitions spawn you on top of an enemy, including the boss.

Regarding the presentation: the music is nice but very short and quickly becomes jarring after it repeats over and over. The main character appears to have a significant black outline that gets completely lost against the background and only the white and red parts are visible.

The layout of the map was decent.

Got to the boss, got stunlocked to death and thrown to desktop.

Thank you for feedback! I know about some of this game's problems though, and almost all of them exist just because i did not had enough time (and last 3-5 days of the jam I wrote so much spaghetti code, that now redoing everything from scratch will be less painful than trying to clear that mess). By the way, that boss fight is basically the last encounter, and if you defeat him, he just disappeares in drawn-in-paint explosion, and thats it: no credits, no special winning melody, not even a textbox saying "congratulations, you won", so you haven't missed much.
