This may be my favorite Game of the Jam. I keep dying in the water/acid in the well trying to land on that tiny platform. I will 100% come back and play more. It's just that today is Christmas here in New York.... I don't know if you guys  make games outside of Jam or usually work with each other, but I have been working on a game Sol Uknight which needs people like you guys working on it.... please check that out on my itch page if you have time outside of Jam. I really am looking for a team outside of Jamming to work on a game with. https://seanlaughlin88.itch.io/sol-uknight-play-test-windows-download

For this jam I made the mini game Chick-Magnet which eventually is going to be in the game Sol Uknight as the player's "second life" - "abstract dream" hard to explain.... but just made a Christmas special -speed run on WebGL to try to spark interest in last few days of Jam

It needs a lot of work still , but the WebGL is a lot better than the PC build.....so please don't play that one if you read this....

anyways about your game! Its all around awesome, I want to play it more and it is right now my favorite of the jam and I have played 80/95 so far.... so great job 5/5 !

Make the text speed faster or give a way to display all words though

Good game! Seems like there is a good amount of RPG elements put in the game. I enjoy the music & narrative as well. The combat & platforming could use some work. It was difficult to hit enemies without being hit. Also landing on that first platforming section took me a few tries because the platforming controls weren't very tight.

Definitely one of the best looking games of this jam, really nice music too! The credits were quite funny, but didn't say anything about the art and music. Did your team make the art and music during the jam, or were they 3rd party assets? Either way the writing and story was quite interesting. Some cool old-school rpg vibes .

Did you make all the assets yourself? Some of them are very elaborate. I feel like the goblins and the skeletons do not really fit the style, though.

And as mentioned in a comment below, I think you need to give the player a chance to be able to avoid getting hit. 

Also, I came to the first boss by avoiding every single enemy by jumping over them. Because I did not want to lose life before the boss. It didn't help me against him, though.

they are on itch/unity asset store. 

I made some modification to some of them and draw some. True the goblin and squeleton does not fit the first level. As for the dodge/ avoid mechanic I've add it in the first level hidden but maybe it should be unlock by default.

Will improve on that.

i like some of the art. i think you might want to triple the text speed, it's an absolute crawl right now. i'd also consider adding in some sort of defensive option if ya'll decide to continue this, right now you just sort of have to take the hit when you go to hit something which isn't super fun. i think having the little town above ground is nice, and getting to talk to people is fun too even with the text issue. good effort on this!

as for the block you can find a dash skill on a boss that help help you evade enemy attack.

you can find it in a secret place once you beat the first boss in the first level.

The issue (at least for me) is that I do not even beat the first boss, because I take all those hits that I cannot avoid.

Make total sense. I've played test so much that at some point I just forgot that it must be very difficult/ impossible for "newcomer". I will make change to that. Thank for the feedback.
