Very peaceful and chill game. Cute art style. Music choice was perfect. I had strong Ecco the Dolphin vibes, which I loved!

I got as far as I could go but the game crashed when I was trying to get through the wall of 4 sharks in the second area. Not sure what happened, but everything froze.

Beyond that, I enjoyed it. Well done!

Developer

glad you like it! I think ive found the reason for the overall crashes after the jam ill probably fix it.

This game is delightful! I love the art and music. I wish the mechanics were a little bit more involved than WASD +interact; but even with the simple controls, I enjoyed exploring the map and finding the whale and big jellyfish.

One tip to the dev, if you make the player hitbox circular to match the sprite, or just smaller than the actual sprite, it would feel more fair to navigate dangerous obstacles.

Overall, this is the kind of game I like to see in game jams.

glad you like it! I did think about making the hitbox smaller but never actually did it another comment mentioned doing a polygon which next time ill def be seeing if i can make it work properly. if  I had the whole month I would have done more game but sadly I did not I think for what it is it works pretty well.

I like the idea of the game. The artwork is came together nicely. Are you participating in the Super Metroidvania Jam to do some more work on the game

Developer

im glad your liking the idea! I was learning  art on the fly so glad you like it, I dont think ill be doing the super jam I want to experiment with more jams and game styles but who knows.

The music and art in the game are excellent, but it lacks sounds and animations.

The animation when the turtle swims up and down only appears twice :(

Also, the shark has terrible collision—next time, please,  use CollisionPolygon2D and outline the shark with points.

But overall, I completed Timmy's objective."

Developer

wow I'm glad you like the art never done it before but spent hours on it! And yeah if I had of started out at the beginning of the month solo and not had the team issue the game would have been larger and Timmy would have swam up and down between more levels. As for the shark ive been hesitant to use the polygon because in a previous jam it caused issues with detecting collision since it thought each part of the poly was its own collision shape perhaps I'll give it another go!!! Awesome that u completed his objective :) thanks for the feedback!

I like the music and the art. I think i found a bug , when you take the Trident and you go back to the part of shark it stop the game and i can't do nothing.

Developer

the big one? interesting not 100% sure why that would happen I may have an idea though, thanks for playing and finding it!

Yep , the big one

Really cool game! I wish the music wasn't set to zero when I first loaded in though considering it's really nice. Great job guys!

Developer

figured it would be better to start quiet and have people turn it up i have my audio at 100% and it was a decent volume glad i added the slider since I know everyone has a diff audio setup. Also glad you think its cool! was kinda cool to make on my own!
