I beat in 65 mins and found 3 optional pickups and RCA
Man the difficultly curve near the end got me I thought that the game was over after snow area
The final boss was very fun once I understood
The ability placement was very challenging as you placed abilities near other abilities so players might not think to go back and explore directly next to an ability pickup
Took me like 3 sweeps of entire map to find the 3rd ability so it was very weirdly placed
the third ability + your spike placement was alot to master in a short amount of time

me after snow area spikes

This was fun, I really liked the rocket arm power up it was fun to blow up blocks and 1 shot the bad guys with it. I think the art looks nice and I like the retro aesthetic, tho I would really like a larger resolution or fullscreen option, I ended up zooming way in on my browser to play. I wasn't able to figure out where to go after I got the rocket arm, a lot of the rooms have similar layouts so it was hard to get my bearings for where I was or where I wanted to go. I still had fun playing this tho, great work!

this was pretty good! it's very functional in a lot of great ways like how you respawn really close to where you die and the heat meter. the screen size is a problem as others have mentioned, but the biggest problem is the amount of pointless space in a lot of areas. i like that you have multiple area types, but because the tileset in each area is very limited the shape of the room is how you remember where you're going and most of the rooms are laid out in a very similar way with lots of loops leading to nothing. one thing i learned during this jam is to think of each room in terms of what it offers to the player, like is it new visuals, a new item, teaching a new item, teaching the basics etc. thinking of rooms in terms of function i think would really mitigate a lot of the level layout problems. i still think it's cool though and a great one for your first try at it especially.

I like the aesthetic, and I’m a fan of games with very low resolutions. My own game has a pretty small screen, but I feel like you might have gone a bit too far here. It gets a bit tiring to play the game without zooming in. A minimap would be very helpful since it’s easy to get lost, especially with so many paths. Still, I had a good time playing it. Unfortunately, I was only able to find the rocket arm; after that, I honestly got pretty lost.

Nice entry, I liked being able to destroy the environment using the rocket arm and there was some interesting platforming. At some point the arrows pointed me through a lava pit and I assume I should have found a new ability to be able to pass through but I couldn't find it.

Wow, amazing! Definitely needs a 2x,4x maybe even 8x scale option though. Fortunately I could just zoom in with my browser, but it'd be nice not to have to.

The "outside" background on the second level would look cool with some parallax shifting. Occasionally fire would stop working, was that a mechanic or a bug? I played for about 10 minutes, unlocked the rocket arm, then got a bit lost. A map would be really useful.

Like it! Very cool, wish I could play in a larger ratio though.
