Very fitting music, controls very nice aswell, I liked how the lava rises based on my speed. Sometimes it even felt like the music actually fit what was happening!

credit the people who made the music plz

amazing game i really like how the songs are different each time

Submitted(+1)

Song is very out of place lol but Its pretty good. Love how the biomes change. Good entry

Floor is lava remake !

Submitted(+1)

the music is amazing aha, what did you use for it? The game does feel a bit repetitive quite quickly, but its nice that it loops as long as you can keep playing :) Love the aesthetics too

Submitted(+1)

This really is a stress-off game, ya the AI music can be a bit too much but you dont feel the pressure since lava doesn't instantly kill you. However, after seeing all biomes it becomes a bit repetitive.I am assuming this is one of your first games from the brackeys character so good job :D

Developer

Yes this is my first game that I've built with Gadot. I've dabbled a bit with Unity and Unreal but I'm finding that Gadot is really clicking for me so I've been reading and learning more about it. I'm also still learning about game design and how to make things fun. To also keep them challenging but not frustrating which is a hard line to stay on!

Thank you for your feedback and comments!

The platforming was fun. I scored 900 first try.

Developer

Nice job! Thanks for playing and taking the time to give feedback!

AMAZING visuals, gameplay was fun too. But the AI generated music was shitty tho

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I was trying to go for a fun style of music that ideally the players could jam out to while jumping and running up the levels. Was there anything particular that you didn't like about the music?

the lava doesnt rlly look like lava, gameplay gets repetitive fast still pretty good for 48 hours and song is rlly nice, also INCREASE DAMAGE PLEASE

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I don't have a ton of shader experience so that's on my list of goals to play around with more so I can get better looking graphics. The lava kinda reminded me of JellO haha. I also wanted to spend more time on level design so it didn't seem as reptitive and wanted to add things like powerups or moving obstacles  but time got the best of me.

Thanks again for your feedback!

fun gameplay, love how the lava waves but i think it would be better if it dealt damage faster but idk

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! Several people have mentioned that the lava didn't deal damage as quick as they were hoping for. I was looking into ways of slowly making that harder over time but didn't have enough time to finish it. Thanks again for playing and giving feedback!

The soundtrack makes the game :D Good luck with the Jam :)

Developer

Thank you!

The gameplay is fluid and very fun, it's a calm game great for having fun. Just the lava that doesn't look like much lava and doesn't pose as much danger, otherwise the game is pretty cool

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing my game and giving feedback! The lava looked more like JellO to me but I ran out of time trying to learn more about shaders so I could make it look more like lava haha

Nice gameplay, but loved the soundtracks

Submitted

why do all of you guys praise AI generated music?

Submitted

It wasn't AI generated

Submitted

sorry, it sounded like it was

Developer

Thanks for your feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the soundtracks!

I see you came straight from Brackeys tutorial XD, The game is fun. I think the lava should kill you faster but other than that the game is cool. Oh and nice music you got there XD

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback! I did recently watch Brackeys, it was a great learning resource! I’m so glad he’s back making videos and with Gadot!

Fun game! I loved the lava shader and it is nice that it doesnt instantly kill you. My only complaint is the music doesnt really fit with the game.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I wanted to spend more time with the game balancing to figure out ways to slowly make it harder over time as you got further up but ran out of time.

Submitted(+1)

I think the lava should have killed faster but it was very fun. The music was quite funny I wasn't expecting it. Good though.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the music!

Submitted(+1)

I agree about the lava not instantly killing you! It was a bit unexpected but not in a bad way :D I don’t think the background music fits the game at all to be honest :/ Nice touch to let the player rebind keys though!

Developer

Thanks for the kind feedback! Did you end up rebinding any keys?

Submitted(+1)

I tried it for fun, but the default was better :D. Still think it’s important to try out these kind of things in game jams to see what works and what doesn’t. I made a small tutorial level for my game which was probably a stupid idea since the gameplay is fairly straight forward and I’ve been told that most people will skip it. But I always wanted to make one so I thought I’d still try!

Developer

I agree! Game jams are definitely a time to try out new things and experiment! I played your tutorial and thought it was helpful on your game so I think it was definitely worth exploring!

Thanks again for your feedback! I love your assets by the way!

Submitted

Thank you! Making assets is my way of being part of the community, since I never have enough time to finish any game projects I start :) I‘m really happy that I took part in this jam, it‘s so mich fun and I love how supportive everyone is

I thought the lava was going to be instant kill. Pretty cool game. I think it could use some SFX but I understand, I also ran out of time and couldn’t include any in mine :|

Developer

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah I need to work on audio management and how to mix SFX and background music. I learned how to kind of build a playlist in this game so I could have a bunch of different background songs to randomly play so I need some a few things!

Thanks again for the feedback!

Fun game, I like how instead of killing you instantly, the lava takes a bit of time to kill you. That way there’s a really good element of panic when you fall deep into the lava and only have so much time to make it out, well done!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I really wanted to go for that sense of the lava always being really close by and giving that feeling of panic! Thanks for leaving a comment!
