The music and the fact that I’m eating small, adorable mammals lol. Snake for 2025! Good work

nice and simple

Pretty simple and fun to play casually. Only issue I encountered was when I tried to turn, if I pressed two keys quickly then the snake just would not turn either way. Still a good game though!

Developer

I fixed/enhanced the management of inputs, and published the new version of the game.

Snake game is really good!

Like the old  times playing in a Nokia phone. The game is solid. The only issue I see it's the art. I also struggle to get assets which are visually coherent among them. In your game the 3 elements: walls, snake and squirrel have different visual style and definition. Having an armonic art style is very challenging in a short game jam unless you invest time in doing all the art by yourself.

Anyway, congrats for the game. I really enjoyed it.

I made all art myself with GIMP, but I suck at it 😅.

The only external stuff I used is the little creature (I just modified it in GIMP to have animation frames)...this creature (a chinchilla) is the logo of MiniScript, the language used for the game...I chose it as a nod to the language.

I got to 28, it really does feel nostalgic, good job!

This game hits the nostalgia!!

Feedbacks to improve this:
Make the movement more responsive.
Also try adding some more function to build up on the original game itself!

Good Luck!
I hope I will see your feedback on my game as well.

The snake moves every 0.25s, that's why it can feel low responsive and boring for some players. I planned to add a difficulty (speed) selector like "easy/normal/hard/extreme" but I finally reduced the scope to a relatively easy time killer. However, I will probably add this difficulty selector in a future version.
