What a cool concept of a game, I really liked looking at the map and transporting the ghosts. I was a bit confused at the start but then I started understanding what I needed to do. My little ghost didn't make it too but I had plenty of fun playing. Nice submission, you can be proud of your game!!
okkkkkkk took me a long time to realize i had to actually make a full stop in stations to pick up ghosts, however, when i figured it out, i couldn't to thought montains in tunnels and every now and then my train would get dismentled on an intersection soooo yeah, safe to say, my lil ghosty ghosts didnt really get to there destination :p
i'm just neat picking, this is a cool game, :)
The concept and idea of driving a ghost train is great!

Really cool entry!
I love the setting and the art is so nice. Really nailed a aesthetic visually.
however I think this project did suffer from a lack of sound, I think this game would be quite the auditory joy tbh. The heavy sound of the speed switch, the burning of coal and the sounds of a train sound so appealing.
3 QoL things that would have been awesome to see imo:
- Have it so when your mouse hovers over a name in your stop list, it highlights the town on your map. This would reduce the time I spent just scanning the map being frusterated, and increased the amount of time I would be doing the funnest thing, planning my route around the map, picking the order of towns to hit, THAT was a very fun part of the game!
- Have Coal / Water displayed somewhere, I couldn't find my reserves tbh. Would just help make decisions and increase the intensity of running low
- When I went above max speed or reverse, the switch would disappear completely making it kinda hard to find the buttons. More of a bug that QoL
Now all that aside this was a really awesome entry! visually nice, and a management game with spirit tracks movement is inspiring and impressive for the time you had! amazing work!
Thank you for your in depth reply!
We really wanted to put in some low key jazzy sounding music to play along while you ride, as well as all the sound effects you described and more, unfortunately there was no time for that. Sound is usually the last thing I implement and we were still scrambling with basic features by submission time, haha. Most of our time went into visual assets (which I am glad you loved!) and the movement system on the map, with barely any time to cram the passenger pickup and delivery system in towards the end. That one is STILL a bit broken.
Thank you for your suggestions and they are already being considered in some shape or form for the next build, whenever we go ahead with it :) I loved this project and I want to polish it up a bit.
Also, glad you picked up on the spirit tracks inspiration ;)
