Cool entry. I think the core gameplay loop was a BIT fast. I see the reason for that though, makes the gameplay quick & adds to the difficulty. I liked the size of the maps too :) good job

Developer

Thank you! :)

A really cool-looking platformer. The graphics were nice, but the game felt a little snappy (don't know if it was intended) and the shotgun pulled out a little too slow for me to pull out to kill enemies. Overall, still a decent game to play.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!  It is supposed to be kinda quick and snappy.

I had a lot of trouble with the shooting animation delay and making it look okay so I didn't really wanna mess with it too much after I got it looking and feeling somewhat decent, the actual action of shooting probably would feel better if it were faster, although it's not really the main focus of the game anyways.

Sweet Game

Developer

Thanks!

It felt like the game was running about 2x faster than it should have, but overall a tight platformer with charming art.

Nice graphics.

Developer

Thanks so much!  Yeah I've heard about the speed/physics being an issue, at this point I'm still not sure if it's just because of how I tuned it, or if there is also a GPU speed thing going on that makes it exponentially worse on faster computers...  If it's the latter that's going to be harder to fix and test ,  but it's definitely something to look out for.

Really liked it!

Thanks! :D

Nice game! Cute art, a little lacking in sound effects, and, as for me, the controls are too sensitive. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! It's lacking because I ran out of time to add any :O  I have heard the controls are awfully fast, I guess I like my platformers quick and jumpy?  Next time I'll probably make a sprint button to make the speed optional :)

To me, it's just the gravity. The character's ground/air speed is good, they just fall REALLY fast, like Mega Man 1 to compare it to something.

But your level design is PITCH PERFECT, I love it.

Developer(+1)

Yeah I could always adjust the gravity scale a little.  I think for the player I set it to something crazy like 30 or something, it makes them come down like a ton of bricks but the jumps are quick and snappy!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it!

graphics are nice .  the camera  should have some smooth  when jumping on ghosts, and i don't see the  hole lava on my screen size.

Developer

Thanks! I'm aware of the moving platform camera issue, but I couldn't get around to figuring out how to fix it in the allotted time for the jam.

I reuploaded with a smaller aspect ratio and some small camera and tileset tweaks as I was having trouble seeing the acid too!

The game seems to run a bit fast, the physics seemed like they were going at about double the speed they should. This might be because I have a 144hz monitor, if you tied logic to framerate and didn't cap the framerate?

Developer

It's supposed to be a little quick, but if it's completely out-of-control quick that's not ideal...

I'm still a newbie to game dev so I'm not sure how to fix or check that? But I'll look into it and I'll watch out for this problem in the future!  Thanks anyway for trying it!
