Enjoyed this game, the gameplay is simple but gets difficult, looks amazing too! would be nice to see enemies change sprite when damaged, so gun feels a little more impactful. otherwise, great game!

The graphics are nice, the difficulty increases a lot but you can fight, good game

I love the addition of the melee pushback, adds a degree of mechanical depth to the gameplay compared to other similar games this jam.

Cute graphics.

I love everything about this game. Replayability, good art and music, and just enough challenge where you can get the hang of it quickly, but is a lot more difficult to master. Really good game 10/10.

Great visual style.

I'd like a bit more variety and more shotgun-ish mechanics.

Great work overall!

Loved the retro look! I would love it if you would play my game and critique the art so my games can get closer to looking like this. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! Will play your game when I get home, thanks for the feedback!

Just click really fast.... (seriously my finger hurts XD). The game needs some juice but overall really good and fun.

Developer

Yes!! Hahaha, could have some fixes in the future or and evolved version

How... how did you get to 253?? I could barely get to 40...

Here we get quickly to the point and it's good. Well I think some additions could be make to make it a bit more spicy! For example you could use a max distance where the bullets would vanish and a random dispersion to add a bit of chaos.

As far as now, if I get into a corner I just have to spam click until I die :)

Developer

Yes! Thanks for the feedback <3

Hey there! Super slick gameboy look you got there!

I liked the visuals a lot, I would just add some particles to indicate the ghost died and make them flickey upon being hit, that would add some juice!

On the audio department, I think the music volume on the game over was too low, I barely noticed there was a song playing until I cranked my speakers up. Also, I believe the gameplay would benefit from having a background song, in the beginning when there aren't many ghosts, it gets a bit stale.

The controls were responsive, I just think an auto-fire when holding the fire button would be helpful. I managed to get to 104 but it became more of a challenge of how fast I could click than actually avoiding them up until 100.

Kudos on making such a charming game!

Also, proof I made past the challenge!

Thanks for the feedback!

On your comments, I think I didn't configure the death sound correctly so it may be wacky sometimes (Or the main music could be on top)

Thanks for completing the challenge! I can't get to that score myself XDDD

Good job on the art for the game and the coding didn't notice any issues well playing the game I didn't notice you could melee attack because I did not read the controls to after my one play through so now I will have to try that out as well.

but not to bad for just using the gun I think

Thanks for the feedback! <3

Edit: omg 155 I can't get to that myself

The game is simple, but really nice to play. After a while, I just found out that you've melee attack haha. Really awesome for your first jam as well. Wish you the best luck for the jam

Cute little game, I like the aesthetics of it. My one suggestion would be maybe add some kind of reload/ammo mechanic because I could last a really long time just sitting in the middle clicking really fast.

Developer

Yes! Was thinking about attack CD but didn't have the energy left to add it.

Thanks for the feedback!

Fun little game and really cute art!  At first glance it immediately reminds me of the top-down shooter minigame from Stardew Valley. :O

One little nitpick I might suggest is I feel like the camera doesn't really need to move? Unless you plan on making the play area bigger in a level or something because right now it's just a little jarring, and the whole play area already fits on the screen!

Developer(+1)

Yes! that Stardew Valley minigame was my inspiration <3

You're correct and a friend of mine gave me the same suggestion, camera movement just keeps you away from information of enemies in the other side of the room in this kind of game, thanks for the feedback!

Great entry. I liked the mechanics of angling the gun. That made it more challenging for sure! Fun and challenging to survive after while

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Your game was super cool btw <3

It looks great but the shotgun does leave a little bit to be desired, it looks as if it only fires one projectile and there's no cool down on firing. Overall, I think you did a fantastic job!
