The colors are very piercing and there is not much contrast between it and the player, so I suggest turning down the saturation of that shade of blue for the sky. The way the clouds worked was very cool though. There was this glowing blue thing at one point and I tried to grab it but it didn't do anything? was that going to be an easter egg or secret of some sort?

Thanks for telling me. I will work on a high-contrast mode. The blue stuff might be a particle effect that I scattered throughout the levels to make finding your path easier.

I like the idea of "carving your way via bullets", very interesting.
Would have loved sounds however :(

Developer

Thanks for your comment! I do plan on adding sounds.

Interesting concept! I liked destroying the clouds, granted i did get to a stage where i was burried in clouds, and and i couldnt get out, even when i was shooting in all 360 direction.

To me though, this had the feel and functionality of snow. Not clouds.

More like snow fighter :D but, good work!

Developer

I agree that it looks like snow and melting snow would be fitting for the mechanic. I am aware of the issue with getting buried. I forgot to put this on the game page, but you can press "R" to restart and "X" to do a short-range attack for clearing nearby clouds.

I really enjoyed this. that final boss was genuinely epic, well done.

I think the gun being a machine gun-style particle mass-spray maybe made it a little too easy — if I had to aim my shots more I feel like it would have been more difficult and enjoyable. also while walking I occasionally stopped abruptly (guessing I was colliding with a cloud on the floor) and that broke my flow. and the camera jumps were a little disorienting as well.

still this is one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played so far, just solid fun. great job cardvark.

Thanks for the comment! Perhaps adding a slower but more powerful weapon would make the game easier? I am currently working on the issues with hitting against the uneven terrain and I will start working on smoothing the camera.

Good concept! It'd be nice if there were sounds/complete graphics, although it's understandable since there wasn't a ton of time.

Developer

I plan on adding sound after the jam, and I can improve the graphics too. Thanks for commenting!

Wow. The concept of destroying any platforms is very cool. The boss fight impressed me but it has too long animation at the beginning and due to the fact that it is quite difficult, I died many times. I would also like to hear at least some music or at least the sounds of gunshots.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks! After the jam, I will go in and add music. I do plan on making the boss's intro skippable, but at the moment, you can shoot at where they spawn to damage them during the intro, although they might start slowly moving while they are still invisible.
