very simple, and not too bad, especially for how little time you spent on it

Starts off quite slowly but the difficulty ramps up pretty quickly.

A few suggestions:

  • Make the enemies with more health bigger than the small enemies
  • Make enemies it more clear when an enemy is fully dead
  • Would be nice to see the laser cooldown close to where I'm shooting, so I can think better about when to shoot. Now I have to look in the top left corner, diverting my eyes from where I want to shoot
  • Make the difficulty go up small steps at a time
  • Make it more clear that I can purchase upgrades, didn't realize this until a few plays in

Overall, a nice game!

Developer

Thank you for playing and also thanks for the suggestions. Feedback is always appreciated.

It's a fun little game, particularly pleasant when bugs start coming in number and you can wipe them out with one swift swoop of your laser. I felt not very limited by the limitation, I never went into overheat and the upgrades are pretty cheap at the start so I didn't have to wait long for the laser to cool down.  The art style is a bit bare, but I really like the Earth in the background and the flames left by the laser, it really adds to the feeling of power.

Great use of limitation and a good idea! I didn’t immediately understand how to improve the laser (not intuitive). I would also add that the effect of the fire remaining on the surface of the moon should cause damage

I survived 14 waves, it's a lot of fun and a lot of work for your first game, congratulations. The limitation is very well implemented.

congrats on your first game ! i think you did great. the only thing i can say was about the waves as in i personally wouldve liked an indicator for the waves. anyways, you did a great job !

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yeah the UI needed a lot more work. I actually planned to have a simple wave counter and wave timer but forgot completely.

Congrats on your first complete game! I think you did a great job on the visuals. I found it easy to figure out how to shoot the beam, but I wasn't too clear on when a wave was over and a new one was going to begin. Still totally playable though, and easy on the eyes. Defs a feat for 72 hours. Great work!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah the missing wave counter and wave timer makes it kind of confusing.

Pretty good use of the 10 seconds limitation! Amazing work.

Developer

Thank you!

Did you do the sprites yourself? Cause I love that chunky earth!

It was easier to play and understand then I thought it will be, but I'm not sure you can actually survive the 10 seconds cool down.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah I did the sprites myself. It's just a programmer art but I wanted to try to draw something :)

If you ever update the game, make all the sprites just as chunky! It has charm :)
