nice game, short and fun experience
This is pretty unique for this gam. I didn't really consider light being the way leading to a horror game so this is pretty cool! It was pretty unnerving having that orange thing chase you. Feels kinda like 2D slender man. Overall, I like it its pretty good!
I didn't read the notes, so i guess the events where connected to them.
I just gone for the exit and won at first try.
Make the player do something before going forward would really add to the game.
The notes are lore tid bits mostly. In hindsight I should've done something to prevent the player from just speedrunning the game but I ran out of time unfortunately, still thank you for your input and for playing!
Later i will take the time to read the notes and enjoy the intended pace of the game.
Right now i'm at work.
would have loved a more interesting level design, besides that the presentation is nice
Thank you! And yeah, the levels could've been way more interesting if I didn't do this one solo.
Cool and atmospheric! I speed ran through it cause I was scared of getting caught by the monster, so I didn't test to see if the notes acted as checkpoints or not? Also I thought the light would protect me from the monster but it got me several times whilst standing in a spotlight (not the flickering ones) is that supposed to happen? Maybe the lights just slow it down, not stop it completely? Your game did it's job of spooking me! I liked reading the lore through the notes as well :)
The notes are just there for set dressing, the checkpoints happen when you reach a certain area instead. The light doesn't completely stop the monster and only slows it down before forcing them to run away because I find the light stopping the monster completely to be a bit goofy and kills the tension! Thank you for playing and the compliments though!
yeah that makes sense actually! :)
This was interesting, I couldn't read the note like another reviewer said because when I pressed E, the note wouldn't stay on the screen. I did get really scared by the big orange "eye" that kept popping up lol. I wish I had understood what the objective was a little more (this might've been in the note I couldn't read), since I was just wandering around at the end and couldn't find the win condition. The camera movement did give me a little motion sickness, I think a static camera or a less "floaty" camera would feel better. I did like the black and white color scheme to emphasize the light vs the darkness, it had a cool look. Great job!
Thank you for playing and your input! The goal is to basically keep going north (with a bit of detour here and there) to get to the win zone while avoiding the eye monster, but that wasn't explained too well in any of the note (which is fixed now!). And yeah the camera movement is definitely too extreme sorry for the motion sickness :(
Nice game, was fun to play! But I couldn’t read the notes. When I pressed ‘E’ they just flash and quickly dissapear. Also, the camera control felt a bit dizzy for me.
Thank you! And the note should work now. The idea with the camera is that you can zoom out/look ahead of sorts so you can find the next light where it's safe, but I can see how it can be dizzying. Thank you for the feedback!
The notes didn't work for me, but the presentation is really good regardless. Very spooky. Nice use of lighting.
Thank you for the compliments and the bug report! You should be able to open the notes now.
