The platforming is very enjoyable, especially the double jump! A bit tough, though it's very fair (aside from 2 instances which I'll discuss in a lil). The level design is really solid for a game like this. Not supremely challenging, not too easy. It's at just the right spot to encourage getting better.

The two issues I had were, you can bug out in the ceiling, especially later down the line, which is a bit rough. Additionally, I wish the hurricane hurtbox was a little more generous, that would make the platforming even better.

The controls did throw me off a lil at the start, but after getting used to them it's not such a big deal. Regardless, it would be cool if everything was mapped to the arrow keys eg. if you're on top of the dragon you and the dragon enter a state where pressing left or right get it moving in either direction.

Solid game!

PS: I like the fact that you used 1bitdragon for the music, it's very thematically appropriate.

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to make such a complete feedback! We wanted to make something challenging yet not discouraging for the player, really glad to hear that this aspect went through ! We will look into the bug celling and try to make more intuitive controls next time!

Aha, now that you mention it for 1bitdragon, it's really meta
Thanks again for the super complete comment ! Definitely super helpful !

I really like the concept and the lore behind it. The controls were definitely a bit difficult but would probably have been better if I was playing with a second person. My biggest feedback is that the first jump is a bit difficult right off the bat, so some easier platforming at the start would probably be a good idea for slowly hooking players. Otherwise cool idea and nice entry!

The controls are a little janky but the concept is really cute and the art and music are fun lol

I beat it, the platforming was challenging and fun! Not really sure why the platform is a dragon though, or what the purpose of moving it is? The dragon only exists for about a second, and the obstacles that require the dragon do not need it to be moved, making that mechanic feel unpolished. Nice work with the challenge!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback and congratulations on finishing our game! 🏅 You are absolutely right,  the dragon moving mecanic is not necessary for now : your feedback made us want to move the final platform a bit further away in a next update so that players have to use the mecanic. Really glad you enjoyed our entry and thanks for your kind words !

Great concept--I love the idea of a platformer with a summonable temporary controllable platform; the design seems perfect to scale into short, difficult levels due to the level of precision required with inputs. I'd love if the dragon's cooldown were visible somewhere. Good work!

Developer

thank you so much for such a positive feedback ! Really glad you enjoyed the game's difficulty and short timing ! We thought about a timer visible on screen, could be an idea to implement for an hotfix!

The controls are incredibly difficult to get used to, but the game is cute and the concept is really cool too!

Developer

thank you so much for the feedback, im glad you enjoyed it, we will definitely make simplier controls next time !!

The dragon dissapears really quickly, making the platforming impossible(?) It could be a situational bug.
I launched with these flags: PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI="1" %command% --rendering-driver vulkan
Without those flags, it crashes immediately. Here's the bug:

hi! thanks for your feedback, we will check the crashing part.

for the platforming, the 10 seconds cooldown + short dragon appearence isn't a bug : one tip that might help is that double jump is possible, and that the dragon will be summoned below the character when it's jumping ! this should allow you to reach higher platforms o/

i will add those details on the game page so that it's more clear for future players ! thx again for the review !
