The sunburn death was such a satisfying sound and effect I didn't care that my customers were disintegrating. Very fun!

pretty easy to pick up, i think if there were more time there could be some late game items like a water bucket which decreases heat but makes them demand more items (like an internal annoyed counter)
I had a lot of cool ideas like that. Also a rogue like upgrade system after each day, but I can only do so much in a few days of game jam sadly

I did not read the tutorial first, and still managed to understand all the mechanics. The most difficult to figure out was the umbrella… but I had a laugh at people literally exploding from sunburn ahahah Presentation is great, love the reference to SMB in your game name/logo <3

You'll see in my playthrough, going in blind had a bit of a learning curve to it. For a few rounds I didn't notice the umbrellas as an object, thinking they were actually just background props. Maybe having a little table with a umbrella sign on it or a little wooden platform like the rest would have caught my attention right away and identified it as a game objective.
Love the pixel art of the umbrellas deteriorating! The whole game's presentation is top-notch, very well done! The music loop was a jam.
It was kind of difficult at times to manage the sunburn effect, and had quite a few casualties on my beach as you can see in my gameplay :P

Really nice game ! The concept is simple but it works! The pixel art is super cute, the theme is well respected, honestly it's very nice! But I agree that an explanation for the parasols would be welcome! But great I had a lot of fun!

Great game! For a 3 day mini jam it definitely has quality and polish. Only thing is I didn't know you could put parasols on customers until halfway through day 2, so I don't even know how I survived that long xD. But the art is awesome and the gameplay loop is fun!
