Really fun puzzle game! Typically I try to leave some sort of constructive critisim on the games I play but honestly I couldn't find anything wrong with this other than the length (which of course is understandable given that this is a game jam)
It's a short game, but you managed to do a lot with the concept. I don't know what more you can do without adding more elements to the game. Well done.
The polish on this one is insane. The game mechanic was also really interesting and fun to play with. One of the best in the jam for sure.
Very creative concept and it’s used really well here. Obviously, reminds me of lavaboy and watergirl with the neutral shooter things. The pixelart to me is very nice, and works well with it’s animations. Good job bro
Incredible game!! And nice to see a familiar face from GWJ! The visual style, animations, sounds and atmosphere are gorgeous as usual, and excellent use of the limitation. You packed pretty complex, strategic movement into a very intuitive control scheme here, really nice. Very enjoyable throughout, great work once again!
A great game in the puzzle genre! I had to download another browser to run it, lol. Overall, I liked the concept of the game, and I also really like solving the puzzles. I also really liked the style of the game, like a nineties game! In general, the game is decent, interesting idea, not bad soundtrack and graphics!
P.S: Can you rate my game, please?
Such a cute retro feeling game, the easter eggs post game were funky too, loved the animations of the elementals, I want them irl
Woah this is such a good game!! The idea is perfect, the use of the limitation, the level design just wow! The art is super cute too! The music is really nice and it fits the vibes of the game! With more time this surely has so much potential to become bigger and better!! (it is already awesome :D)
Good art, well executed, The song at the end goes really hard, also found 6/3 of the collectibles
Mmmmmm such a good game. Fun throughout with some great puzzles that made me really think about the mechanics. I'm sure this would be amazing if continued (I'd certainly play it all the way through).
The art and music are amazing, especially that track at the end once you escape. (I just kept walking to hear the entirety of it.)
Probably so far one of my favourite games I've played. Well done, I will certainly be checking out more of your stuff in the future.
Thank you so much for the video!! This was incredibly valuable feedback to study and It really corroborated with ABCWarrior's feedback about the micro-management of the minions. This gave me the confirmation I need for a control scheme rework which I think will make it easier to design puzzles as well! Thanks again!
I am in LOVE with the art style and the sound design of this game. The vibes are just IMMACULATE. The game itself was so much fun too, if not a bit short :(
It feels like there could be so much more explored with this concept! My only concern was when the elementals died and their re-spawn point was off-screen, it felt like random chance whether they would make it back or get hit by some obstacle and die on their way back. In general, micromanaging them alongside your character wasn't the most fun thing in the world.
P.S I was curious about what collecting all the orbs did since I'm not sure if it changed anything, but now I read in the comments that there's a fourth collectible easter-egg so it looks like I've got to go back in!
Thank you so much!! :)
I appreciate the feedback about the elementals, that was indeed a flaw that I wasn't able to iron out for this... perhaps ecaroh could re-summon them? Hmm.. that could bypass obstacles with ease, though... I'll have to brainstorm this one!
As for the orbs - that was another quick last minute addition just to add a little side quest to the game. There's actually more than 4 easter eggs out beyond the horizon... But they currently don't serve any real purpose. I think if I expand the game, they will act like Mario's stars or Banjo & Kazooie jiggies, to unlock doors that require a certain amount!
Been thinking some more and I think you definitely brought up a good point of the controls. While this jam's limit was a fun challenge to experiment around, I think I'm going to rework the controls to be more like "The Lost Vikings" where you swap between characters, and then control each one with WASD/Arrows.
So thanks again for bringing that up in your review! I think this will feel a lot better
Everything felt really polished and fun. The game turned out great and the limitation was really creative, nice work!
A stylish looking and sounding game that is sure to appeal to retro fans! The mechanics of "Fire and Water" are not new, but still this game presents them in a new way!
Awesome job!
love the style, the concept is cool, and the sounds are juicy. what more could I ask for? also kudos for adding that 4th collectable easter-egg
Really like the art and the death animation *o*, the mechanics are pretty interesting! well done
This game is awesome for 72 hours of work. Straight up, I enjoyed it a lot. The music, the art, and also the fact that I can make Ecaroh boogie by spinning him in circles. solid 4/5
Good game. That's all I can say in short, and I found out that walking backwards is faster
such a good game! only halfway through, however, did i realised the mc was facing the direction of the mouse, so i moonwalked through the whole labyrinth, which honestly added to the experience
(I actually made moonwalking a secret speedrun tech 🙃 you're just naturally pro!)
Nice mechanic honestly, the art is pretty nice too
What to say what to say… Not only the game made me crave for more (everything is so satisfying from the death animation to the minion mechanics and first challenge <3) but also made me want to look for the other games you made.
6/5 would play again <3 Very impressed! Inspiring even, I’d love to reach that level of polish in my next jam!
Thank you for playing and checking out my games :)
The death animations were definitely my favorite part to animate 😁
