Solid base, I enjoyed my time with it, though the battles did drag on a bit at first. The damage increase and fireball chance increase carrying over from previous battles is weird, but I don't think the game would be beatable if it wasn't the case, and did lead to some strategy, so I guess it's fine. Not a fan of the sound effects used though, it feels less goofy and more so just meme-y. The UI is functional, but it's a bit small and could definitely use some more polish, and I would of preferred if I chose an attack first then the target.

The game is surprisingly well balanced, it doesn't feel too hard but I do have to employ some amount of strategy to win, and every party member felt like they had a role and they fit into it well.

Overall, I enjoyed this a lot more then I thought I would at first, and with some more polish it will probably be a pretty great game.

It's always cool seeing an turn based rpg, and those sfx made it all the better for it. Congrats!

Glad to see an rpg in the jam. It’s quite nice, but sometimes the buttons wont work the first time I pressed them. Besides that it’s not bad at all, nice :)

You've got the skeleton for a great RPG in the making, well done! It'd be cool to implement movement into the mechanics of the game somehow, seeing as you've already got the mobs laid out on a grid system. To be able to arrange them and have that affect which abilities they can use / get hit by would be next level. I'm not super keen on the AI thumbnail, the dragon looks a bit off!

The game's confusing at first, but it's geniunely fun. Some attacks don't seem to work like Pink's Taunt attack. The game is also too slow-paced and gets tiring too quickly. Sounds get annoying quickly, etc.

Still, I enjoyed my time with the game, great work!

Thanks for playing! I did spend a lot of time working on the spells themselves that I probably could've made the enemies easier to defeat and less of them to make it feel less slow-paced. I also didn't have any sounds till about the last hour so they were quickly added haha

Like monsters and idea, i thinks game need more visual effects. And also controll is a little bit annoying a always wanted  at first choose attack, then target. But great job!

You make a very good point! My friends and I actually played wizard 101 right after the jam ended and choosing the spell first 100% makes more sense lol. Thanks for playing!

I love the cover image so much! it's beautiful! :D I also like the wonky in game aesthetic as well xD but the UI was a bit small for me, making it hard to read and click the spells. also.. what is wrong with the dragon? the sounds terrify me xD

Developer

Thanks for playing! With the asset pack I found I knew I had to make a wacky feel to the game haha. The dragon noise was picked last second so may not be the most dragon like (it's a tiger :O). Thank you for the note on the UI too I'll definitely make sure the UI is larger in the future :)
