Graphics and music are cool. Had no idea where to find the portal, unfortunately.

Developer

The location is random, part of the challenge is locating the portal.

Unless you're talking about not knowing what the portal looks like, because that may not be clear at first.

I love the atmosphere and coherence of this game! How did you manage to make this in just 2 days??
And yeah, thanks for the '/' that lets you get bonus soulbloods—I managed to build an overpowered setup with flameblust + sleek + regenerate + hungry + lightweight and wrecked everyone like kittens (though I did feel a bit like a kid using cheats in Counter Strike).
Awesome game, thanks!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you enjoyed the game. The cheat was intended to let the player play around with the different options and builds without having to grind for it, so I would say you used it quite well.

Lovely art style and shader work! Well done!

Thank you for your kind words.

It makes no sense that you could have time to introduce so many things. Incredible job!

It's hard to imagine that such a well-developed growth and upgrade system could be created in just three days; it's truly impressive.

Developer

Thank you for your kind words. I'm actually a bit impressed I managed to pull it off myself. I initially had thought I might not get everything I wanted in, but somehow, I did.

Wow! So much) But I'm leveling up so slowly :(

I liked it, it feels like I can play for a long time))

//

Only later did I see that it was a cheat for souls)

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the cheat was added in case the soul gain was too slow for people. I think you might be the first to actually notice it though. I will probably have to tweak the amount you gain or the amount it takes to level up and unlock things in the future though. Thanks for your feedback.

Submitted(+1)

I really want to see the updated art and new balance. I feel your persistence) I think it will be even cooler in the next games)

Submitted(+1)

in awe at the amount of content! Pretty cool to have upgrades and skill tree like progression and multiple characters and custom color options. Nice concept, good work!

Developer

I'm glad to hear you liked what I had for this game.

Pretty cool game overall. If you plan to do an update, adding a really small tutorial can be nice because I find myself reading the description for the exit portal. Thinking it was from the set. But some players really like to search tho so on the other hand that's not big of a deal.

ps: Not taking that in account for the Jam submission but I had some random freeze with Brave browser.

Developer(+1)

Having more of a tutorial is something I would want to add for sure, since the game isn't the most clear right now. I'm not really sure what's causing some people to have problems though, since something like that would be really hard to troubleshoot properly.

Developer(+1)

I've changed the web version slightly so it might run better, if you have a chance I would greatly appreciate if you could try playing it again to see if it still has problems.

Submitted

Hey sadly it still has the freezing issue. It seems to appear the first time I encounter the breakable wall you used to separate "rooms". Outside of that no more random freeze tho. Hope that help for debuging.

Submitted(+1)

Tried playing it with Google Chrome but it lags a lot :(

Cool concept and art tho!! <3

Developer

I'm not really sure what could be causing that so all I can suggest is maybe try another browser? What part is lagging for you exactly?

Great job with this!  It's very well made and feels complete, especially given the very small amount of time given!  I know this would probably come with more development time, but some extra guidance for players in their goal and how to complete levels would definitely be a step up.  Still, very impressive!

Developer(+1)

Yup, that was something that ended up suffering from the tight timeframe and that I want to improve in future. Thank you for your feedback.

I have a freeze on my pc (╥﹏╥)

Developer

Are you playing the web version or Windows version?

Submitted

web version/ Don't like to download jam's game

Developer

That's weird, since no one else has had any problems yet. It might be a browser problem, so you could try playing it in another browser.

Wow this game has so much content and it looks amazing, personally I found it very difficult to get souls, I think enemies only gave 1 soul right? At the start it feels pretty rough to get things going, maybe I missed something I don't know, but overall the it seems like a very good project to keep working on!

Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback. The amount of souls you get is a bit low at first, but some enemies actually give you a bit more and it does increase when you level up. Regardless, it's something I'll have to consider in the future.

Submitted(+1)

I think this game has an impressive amount of content, but it was a bit difficult to understand at first. I really like the art style and the concept. Well done

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback. The game isn't incredibly clear at first, and I wish I had more time to add more information into the game, but it's something I will keep in mind for the future.

Submitted(+1)

Unique art style and so much content to unlock! I wish I had more souls to try different attacks, forms, and mutations. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback. More souls is a pretty common complaint, and I should have probably made early soul gain higher.

Submitted(+1)

Very cool looking game with a lot of content and a nice sized world to explore. Needs a bit more hit feedback for the player/enemies and the portal out should have some in game indicator because at first I thought it was just decoration. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. You're definitely right about the portal needing more of an indicator. I'm not sure what else I could possibly do for hit feedback at this point besides putting in sound effects, which were planned but I didn't have the time for it.

Submitted(+1)

I’m glad the game has a lot of unlocks with different mechanics available, you don’t see that nearly enough in jams. The music is quite alright, graphically pleasing, I myself especially love the “dirty” style. That’s very well done. It appears pressing space restarts the room, but doesn’t clear it, maybe something leftover from development? Spamming space spawns like thousands of portals and objects, nearly crashing. Besides that, very, very nice. Great job :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, I'll be sure to fix that right away.

Submitted(+1)

I don't really understand the game well. The idea sounds and probably IS unique, but I can't figure out HOW to leave the Break Out area, the game's pacing is super slow, and for some reason, I can only attack to the right, so if an enemy is to the left, I gotta walk around it to attack.

But the game looks very, VERY good! So congrats on that!

Developer

I didn't have a lot of time to make things super clear, so sorry about that. Once you're in a dungeon you have to find a portal (a rotating circle in the middle of one of the rooms) to leave.

The direction you attack in is where you mouse is so if your mouse if always on the right that could be the issue.

Submitted

I feel like you should attack where you're facing, not where the mouse is, it's hard to realize that off the bat.

Developer

The problem is that would limit your attack range, since you would no longer be able to attack above you, and half the attacks in the game are ranged projectiles that would benefit from that.

I will try to make where you're aiming more clear in the future though.

Submitted(+1)

The game is so complete! World generation, different attacks, diferent forms.

Impressive that everything was made by yourself in such a short time, music, art, gameplay...

You're really skilled!

I would also like to learn to make my own music for my games, but honestly even when I go with a team don't have enought time to record normal sounds cuz I spend way too much time on the art XD

Developer(+2)

Thank you for your kind words.

Submitted(+2)

Gonna be honest i had a hard time understanding how the game worked...

Also, i saw like basic upgrades costing 100,250, but you only gain one soul per enemy killed ? That's HARD

Still a huge amount of content for this short period of time, congrats and keep going !

Developer(+1)

I'm sorry you struggled to understand the game, I didn't have enough time to clarify somethings sadly. I'll try to add some more info on things in the description.

Actually, some enemies are worth more, and it does go up as you level up. It does start off slowly, but it should speed up a bit. I will take this into consideration.
