I survived till day 137 :D That was very good, a liiiiitle bit too luck based for my taste, but still amazing game for a jam :D I found myself groaning every time more people joined my group, because of how fast that destroyed food supplies, with no good benefit from my groups numbers xD This has a lot of potential, good work!
That's an excellent run! :D I think you picked up on the balance issues correctly, scavengers are just a bit too much of a hinderance... We'll try to tweak it a bit in the future!
Thanks for playing :)
I'm glad you posted in discord, otherwise I would have missed this game! Great vibe going with the music and both the 3D and the UI art - most jam games have very ..rough UI (especially myself). I got rolled by the RNG a couple times, but I very much enjoyed the little event stories that popped up. The tile "fog of war" (not really sure what to call it) was a fun addition and really gave the game character. The devlog y'all put together was interesting to read through, that sure is a lot of commits...
The music is incredible, the radio vibe is amazing. Really good game overall, just need some balancing
Definitely needs to be improved in terms of the RNG. I just feel the game itself was an interesting concept. Music was really nicely implemented. The spike in difficulty is my real concern but I guess I enjoyed playing through it nevertheless. I can see how the gameplay can be found addicting and I found myself playing a few more times than I originally thought I would. My friend also played it and she said the same things. She also said that it would be cool if there were more variety. I'm not too sure what she meant by that but I'm sure you will gain something from it. Anyway, I hope you continue working on this project! Thanks for making this game! We made a game about a Space Cat haha :D
Good, but the RNG could use some work.
Definitely! :D
A really cool game, I liked the music a lot.
I think the game is a bit too challenging at times, maybe having specific tiles with greater chance of food would have been better since walking on a tile that gives you 10+ survivors is basically a death sentence in some cases.
And a local scoreboard would've also been a welcome addition.
Other than that, the gameplay is quite addictive and the chill soundtrack is just another reason to keep on playing.
Great job !
(Got to Day 82 due to incredible luck)
Thanks for the feedback! We didn't have time to playtest much so a lot have said similar things. We're glad you still had fun though!
really cool game and idea, loved the visuals! the gameplay was also quite fun. good job!
Nice art and music: Samourai Champloo meets Fallout. :)
Loved the game concept, too! Fast-paced and quite challenging.
I guess if I had one regret, it would be not nowing how far I got. Have you considered either giving the game a scoring system, or some rogue like elements to increase replayability? I could definately see a hidden plot line (maybe you're looking for a lost sibling) or some unlockables (new tiles, new events, new starting character, a car,...).
Cheers,
I like the flow of this game, I'm sure if it was more balanced it would be quite catchy. I remind me this game, which I enjoyed a lot because of the flow of quick important decisions you take very often.
Congrats !
pretty cool ideas with grateful arts, especial the back ground are nice. only problem is the difficulty need more balance, for now just keep go forward you can get far(which is a little boring); and if there can be more events and land types will be better!
A really cool game, I loved the music and the sound design was quite good, I did find that at times I found more people when I didn't want them making me loose food at an alarming rate, being given a choice if we want to take people in might have been a nice touch. I also found that I collected a lot more combat score than I could ever hope for so more events that reward you for it might be nice, I have no idea if its any good but this is my high score.
Thanks for the kind feedback!
When you have a lot of weapons you can spend more time in cities. There are quite a few events requiring lots of weapons that give big payoffs. Without weapons they can be disasterous though...
That is one awesome game !
there's quite a few possible events, the algorythm seems to make sense on how the food is used .
I really like it !
Well done! A great idea, needs a tiny bit of balancing, but I can imagine with extra rare special events you could make this into a full game with a fleshed out story, great work!
