me: check out my game...
this guy: oh yeah the limited pallet,
me: how he made it in 3 freaking days all I managed to jump a little character from "BTF"...avoiding
police...
DAMM HE IS SETTING BARS TO HIGH FOR THE JAM...
GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNY
I really like how you pulled off the cel shading with the palette. It works really nicely! The game itself is also very fun, with great music and excellent level design. I can't believe you got so much done in such a short time!
My only criticism is very minor, I couldn't find a way to flip the vertical axis for movement. I couldn't rewire my brain to press 'W' to go up, and kept on trying to "pull back" with 'S'.
Oh! That's in the pause menu (p). I meant to be more descriptive in game, but I ended up having to put that in the itch page(and still somewhat poorly). I totally agree that it hurts to do it the other way around, but I wasn't sure that my opinion was the default lol. I'm really glad you liked it, thank you!
This is amazing, i think if you improve the controls and make it more fast paced, it would be a great multiplayer game, with a race system! Incredible work for a game jam, you did a lot in so little time
Thanks for the comment! There are mouse aiming controls (activated in the pause menu) too if you aren't a fan of the keyboard ones (from playtest feedback it seems to just be a matter of preference). Multiplayer does sound interesting, especially if you could sabotage other players.....hmm
Totally, it reminded me of a game i played a long time ago that was an amazing multiplayer race with kind of airplanes, but they stayed mostly on the ground and could go up but there was a limit, but yours could be anyway you want to xD
If you can give feedback on my game too, i would really appreciate that ^^
Of course! I'm just working my way through
Man this is incredible, I feel guilty playing this without paying.
No need to! I was considering doing like a 2$ steam release with a much more polished version in the future, and comments like this really keep me motivated. Thanks for the play!
I don't know how you doing this game in just three days, but it's an amazing game!
Thank you! I actually (for once) intentionally underscoped this one so that I could have time to polish and have fun features like skins. And I don't sleep a lot.
so the secret is not sleeping at all xD
Incredible use of the limitation, aesthetics are top notch!
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
I'm quite terrible at flying, but this was gorgeous and very nicely polished, awesome
Thanks Melon!
How in world You managed to create this in just three days, are You time traveling too? This is incredible! Controls felt smooth, presentation was stunning (my jaw dropped when I saw that You can unlock additional skins for the ship), and music was pleasant and fit the overall tone. Huge respect, and great work, fellow "-naut" ;D
The beauty of procedural generation! Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad the skins weren't for .. *naught*. (Horrible pun, I know)
Amazing game. Cool sounds and music, stunning visuals and solid gameplay. Loved the fact that there are unlockable skins according to how far you got and the seed generator. Great work!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed!
Incredible game ! Everything is perfect (graphics, sounds, music) !
I'm shocked that you used only colors from given color palette in this game.
Thanks! I made a sort of remap shader to take normal greyscale shading and map it to the pallete.
Presentation was killer :)
thank you frog :)
Wow.
I mean, from the music, to the art, to the use of shaders/post processing (I think), it's honestly impressive you made this in a game jam (and alone at that !).
The mouse controls are definitely smoother, but I like that you gave players the choice.
If I had to give one remark : I would have liked a way to boost your speed to fast forward through more tame segments.
Stellar work !
That's a fair critique on the pacing of subsequent playthroughs, I might have to add a boost feature in the future. I'm glad you liked the shaders + music, I tried to polish em up as much as possible. Thanks for all the feedback, I really appreciate it!
Great game, man! The physics and stuff, the opening animation... like wow, dude! The controls are kinda hard (real gamers will probably roast me very hard) but further into the game you get the hang of it! The dimensions and the objects around are great, I LOVE IT! Great game, and hope you had fun!
Thank you so much, I had a lot of fun making it!
A bit hard to play a first, but you quickly get the hang of it. I would have added some collectables to spice it up and make the rewards more meaningful. I couldn't get past the black level with gears, but I liked a lot the atmosphere, graphics and sounds. It's amazing that you were able to do all this on your own, great work !
I actually was originally going to do collectibles, but I found myself with enough time to do the skins instead. I'm glad you like the sounds + atmosphere, I spent a very long time in FMOD and Reaper haha.
Very polished game, controlling the ship requires some skills that I don't have
Thanks for playing!
Really great entry, but I suck at flight sim games lel. A first I had the assumtion it was a rail shooter, but that was not the case. The toon shader was a fantastic way to approach the limit, and the opening cutscene game some pretty cool context. The Skins made me want to keep playing, to try and see them all. Might have to come back after the rating period to try and actually finish. Got 50 something high score at tho.
Good stuff my dood
Haha, no rails here! It seems like the skins worked, I wanted to make sure the player always had a goal to shoot for. I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed it!
