Use of the limitation
The birds you are trying to rescue can't stop moving because they're panicking. You can use this to your advantage by yelling at them, which scares the birds into running faster. With some practice, you can guide them back to the zoo.

That was hilarious! For some reason I kept thinking I could ride that ostrisch! Nice art, especially the birds.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! If we weren't limited by the jam timer then maybe we could have added ostrich riding! Sounds like fun!

I loved the art, and the end newspaper made me laugh. I wouldn't change a thing, well done!

Developer

Wow, that's so kind of you to say! We never know if people find our stuff funny, so knowing we got a laugh makes us happy. Thanks!

Love the art. Very funny idea that was quite enjoyable to play.

Developer

Thank you! We're so happy you enjoyed it! :)

Undoubtedly one of the most creative games I've played in this JAM 😁

Developer

Wow, thank you for the kind words! We try to make our games kind of wacky, so we're so happy to hear you enjoyed it!

Aeeeaahhh! I've finally did it! Love this game. You're my favorites! Simple and great. And funny text!

Developer

Congrats on winning the game, and thanks so much for your kind words! :)

damn, 3 left. i thought the kiwis and penguins would be the hardest because they were small but it was the ostriches that evaded me most. the art and presentation for this game rules and i love that i also sound like a bird.

Developer

Haha, we didn't notice that the zookeeper's cries sound like a bird until you pointed it out! Thanks for playing and for your kind words!

Very comedic approach and loved the 2.5D style.... The art and music were very fitting for the type of game. I have some feedback / comments for you!!

1) The sound effects can get a bit jarring when yelling at multiple birds at once. But it could easily avoided by only yelling at a few lol

2) It's kind of hard to tell if the animals went through the door. It's almost as if im watching a billiards ball almost miss the hole and then suddenly the animal would walk itself in. Maybe a SFX or some sort of indication would be great!!

3) The day and night cycle. Wow. When those lights flick on at 5PM. Dat immersion though

4) The music for the start up seems a little muffled but I am not sure if that was intentional to simulate being inside somewhere. It feels like someone rolled off all the high frequencies on an equalizer or something.

Again, great entry and thank you for such a great experience! Unfortunately, my zookeeper got fired..

Developer

Wow, thanks for taking the time to give such detailed and helpful feedback! We did want to give some sort of indication when the birds went through the zoo gate (something flashing on the screen like "1 takahe saved!" or "2 ostriches saved!"), but we simply ran out of time. We're not sure what you mean about the muffled music in the beginning; we tested the sound on all our machines, and we didn't notice anything, but we'll keep looking into it. Anyway, thanks again, and we're really happy you had fun!

Really great presentation! I wasn't expecting to see a game in this jam with a day/night cycle LOL

Developer

Haha, thanks for noticing the day/night cycle (it was my husband's idea, and I'm glad he insisted on it)! We really appreciate you playing the game and hope you had fun!

Very intresting and unique idea, well done!

I spent more than an hour playing it but still not able to win(Still I really enjoyed the game).

Developer

Thank you so much! I feel really bad that you spent so much time playing and didn't get all the birds, but I'm glad you had fun. When play-testing, I always had trouble with the last few birds, especially the penguins because they're so small and accelerate very fast when startled. Some people have had better luck with the downloaded version because the web build can be a bit choppy. In any case, thank you for playing and for your valuable feedback!

The expression of the zoo keeper is priceless! Great humor and fun gameplay. Impressive to see a 3D entry, it adds a layer of complexity (programming and gameplay wise) in my opinion.

I did not manage to get a win sadly.

Developer

Thank you so much for your kind words! I had a lot of fun drawing the goofy expressions on the zookeeper and birds. We were a little worried about the difficulty; we didn't want to make it too easy, but now it seems like it's hard to capture 100% of the birds. Some people had better luck in the downloaded version because it runs a little more smoothly. In any case, thanks again for playing and for your feedback!

Excellent idea and execution. The 2d characters are a nice touch.

Developer

Thank you so much for your kind words! We had a lot of fun making it!

Great game !! Its fun and challenging, well honestly I kept failing until I gave up x). I really love the style good job!

Developer

Thank you! We were worried about the difficulty, but we're happy you still had fun!

Submitted(+1)

Very fun and I love the style! I failed getting the very last bird out (during the last 10 seconds or so) multiple times, which I will take as a personal achievement.

Developer

Thanks so much for your kind words! We were a little worried about getting the difficulty right, but only missing one bird is very impressive! I bet the last bird was a penguin--they're slippery jerks and run faster than you expect!

Submitted(+1)

I think the difficulty was perfect, or at least for me. It took several attempts which made it all the more satisfying when I did actually succeed. Penguins and kiwis were a pain though.

Submitted(+1)

awesome! I like the impressive  mix of 3d and 2d , and the gameplay is fun , good replay value (i would play this again )

Developer

Thank you so much! We're really glad you had fun!
