Very very cool and well designed. This blood mechanic is something unique, well done!
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I left a comment before but I don't actually see it on here. Great submission!A very cool mechanic, especially when it's used for exploration. It's nice that you don't lose "health"/organs when you walk where you have already walked *however* due to the dark environment/player light, the player can't see all the ground on screen. So, it helps remember where you've walked as you explore, which is cool. A couple small things I also like: 1.)The elevator music at the end is great. 2.) The screaming skeleton is scary! Good use of the sound to give the play a cue that it's coming. 3.) Nice touch teasing the boss room door before you actually can open it.
The game has a bit of an odd aesthetic but also it's own kinda charm.
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
The elevator music was one of my favorite parts too haha
I put the sign to the lich boss so that players would recognize that they could open the shortcut and they could know what they are working towards, but I ran out of time before I could put in an elegant solution. I'm glad you enjoyed the aesthetic though, even if it was unintentional!
I like the mechanic where you have to constantly killing enemies to stay alive. Very polished. Like the game. Was really fun to play. Good job! :)
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed my game!
This is a really great concept and extremely well polished, even with the upgrades. The art direction you went with is really suitable and I like the main mechanic of using your health for movement and attacks. With all the different abilities giving access to new areas as well I can definitely see this as a larger world metroidvania. Great job!
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!
I have plans on continuing to work on this game concept, but am torn between making it more of a full-on roguelite or a metroidvania.
The health mechanic sort of discourages exploring for secrets so I would have to figure out a solution to that if I were to push it in the Metroidvania direction.
On the other hand, I wouldn't be able to make as complex of a world with each ability unlocking new areas if I were to fully make it a roguelite.
If you don't mind, what is your input on this? I am trying to see which parts of the game people are interested in
