Very nice game! It's kind of a mix between Just Shapes and Beats and Crypt of the Necrodancer, really nice idea. You used the same music the "Dog Galore" entry did, what a coincidence, it's a cool theme :D
I think the beat might be a little bit off with the music, it might just be me not getting it right tho.

Developer

What a coincidence me and PouPou used the same music and genre. The beat bar is a little janky because I couldn't find any good way to make sure it's 100% in sync with the music, so I had to settle for something less than ideal.

Awesome and simple little rhythm game, had a good time playing it.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

This was a cool game :) I loved the concept and how the character bounced around. In terms of feedback, there didn't seem to be any sort of reason to stick to the beat? I was able to move around regardless of if I hit the green zone. Good job overall though!

Developer

Thank you. Sticking to the beat is the way you get points but it's not communicate very well.

This is a super fun and interesting mechanic!  I've never played Necrodancer so I don't know how it compares, but it's really fun and satisfying to move around to the beat!  This is a strong foundation to build on; if you could add some puzzles and exploration it could be really cool!  Good job!

Developer

Glad you liked my game, while I don't think puzzles or exploration would fit the game it's a really interesting idea.  I'll add that the gameplay appeared out of nowhere, the original game idea was "Crypt of the Necrodancer + Rhythm Heaven" where the player would switch between Necrodancer style gameplay and Rhythm Heaven style gameplay, but I ended up on this idea in the end. Thanks for the feedback.

Definitely some necrodancer vibes! Could use more polish and gameplay, but the foundation is there for a fun game experience. Keep it up!

Developer

As I said in another comment: "Necrodancer was one of my primary inspirations for this game." I agree that the game is a bit on the crude side, I originally wanted to, I ended up not doing that because it wasn't necessary and I was swiftly running out of time.

Yeah it certainly has necrodancer vibes. It was cool!

I couldn't see my score while playing, implementing that might make the game a little easier to grasp

Developer

As I said in another comment: "Necrodancer was one of my primary inspirations for this game.", if I update the game a way to see your score during play will be one of the things I implement.

This is cool. It gives me strong Necrodancer vibes. Only suggestion is that it might be useful if the score and health was more visible during the game, because I had no idea how well I was doing.

Developer

Fun fact: Necrodancer was one of my primary inspirations for this game. I agree that the things you mentioned are quite unclear, if I update this game I'll be sure to add them in.

I enjoyed it! Not sure what it was about the beat but I found it super hard to get on - I think I naturally picked up on the off-beat and got stuck on that. The first time around I got 0 >.>

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it!  I'll admit the game is a bit harder than I expected, (most) rhythm games are naturally hard.
