My team is hoping to release chapter 1 of a 9(ish) chapter story for the jam, and continue working on it after. Problem is that the LIs and thus the romantic component of the story don't get properly introduced until chapter 2. Is that fine, or should we buckle down and try to get both chapters 1 and 2 done before we submit?
should we at least have some kind of ranking for specific categories like story and stuff? Im saying this because knowing I will be ranked keep me motivated during the jam. also it encouraged people to try out all participants' games and give review, so I will know that at least someone would play my game.
Hello! Ranking is an entirely different thing to take care of that I know I won't have time to coordinate as the jam runner. Also, it's completely antithetical to how the jam is structured as the point of Monstrous Desires it to simply get more monster-based romance VNs out there. Ranking this may also put completely new solo devs up against teams who've already coordinated across multiple jams and I want that to be something people are aware of going into this instead of finding out midway that this detail about the jam changed!
Hello, I was under the impression things like monster girls would be allowed and the first version my game would be a perfect fit to release concurrent with this jam, but the question about demi-humans above makes me doubt my former assumption. Are monster girls such as plant women and demoness' welcome or not?
Hello! There is no Discord server for this jam as I'll find it hard to manage on top of my academic life. If you wish to look for people to partner up with for this jam I can suggest looking at the DevTalk server! ( https://discord.gg/devtalk )
Hello! Quick question: I wanted to have the sequel to my first game done in time for the jam, but thanks to a number of outside circumstances beyond my control, my game likely won't be done in time. Can I submit my first completed game instead? And if (by some miracle) I get the next game done in time, can I submit both? Or its it only one per jam?
Ah wait, I just read the line "You are allowed to submit entries created for other jams as long as it is created within the jam's time period and abides by all prior rules." I made my first game back in febuary, I assume it isn't eligible then? If not thats ok, it appears that my game will be done well before the new deadline!
I'm running a poll on twitter as well for a possible deadline extension to the tenth! https://x.com/Siyokoy_/status/1849438246826389783
