This game is really cool! The only problem is that enemies seem to spawn offscreen sometimes, or at least I assume that's what the red laser shooting at me is? Also, I think it would be cool if you could aim and shoot with the mouse instead of just tapping shift. Good job regardless!
Thank you for playing, this problem is a bug that happened with a lot of people but I myself never experienced it even after playing hundreds of times. I remade the spawning system completely hoping to stop this bug, but as I have never experienced it myself, I cannot know if this solved the problem or not. I'll be updating the game after the jam voting is over!
I liked the concept and execution for the game. Cool art, colors and effects/particles. Decent music and I really liked hearing the jump sound you chose. Good difficultly and controlling to dodge the eyes around on the platforms felt great.
I hope you improve the player shooting. Maybe a toggle on/off for shooting or to use either the mouse or keyboard to manually aim and shoot.
Great game overall.
Very addictive! Chaining up the different upgrades to make a unique build is incredibly satisfying, and everything got challenging the further I got! Looking forward to trying to get more highscores
Thank you so much for playing!
I was a bit confused at first, but it was quite fun when I got the hang of it.
I don't know if this is intentional, but I experienced a bit of input delay when moving horizontally which made it much more difficult to dodge incoming bullets and jump to smaller platforms. Also in rare cases, I'd land on the ground, press space, and the jump wouldn't get triggered.
I think the enemies' bullets were a bit too small or difficult to see. Maybe a flashing animation for them would do the trick. I'd also appreciate it if the UI buttons and the perks could be controlled with the keyboard since you don't use the mouse for anything else.
The retro sounds were neat and the music fit well with the rest of the game.
A pretty cool entry overall. Good job!
Thank you for playing!
The delay you felt is probably the acceleration implementation on the movement to avoid hard turns, you can surpass it by making a fast small jump to the other direction. And I've had this jump issue early in the project but I thought I solved it, thank you for reporting, I will try to reproduce it to see what's happening.
I'll make sure to add your suggestions after the jam ends, I agree that the enemies projectiles are hard to track and it would be much more familiar if you could navigate things with your keyboard!
Beautifull game, great concept! It's reminded me of roguelike games. It has a lot of potential!
Just need to fix bugs that prevent from enjoying your game!
Can you report what bug have you found while playing?
When i died 2-3 times on the level 0 there is no enemy no more. just some red laser that shooting out of nowher at the top. and then i try to go to level 2 i am glitching.
Also at the level 3 there s no exit to the new level just wall.
Thank you for sharing, I'm really trying to find them but they just don't happen with me. I've tried another browsers and even another device and OS and for me the game never bugged, even though everyone here had them ;/ idk how many times I've played, my best run is 31 levels now and i've never experienced these seemingly common bugs...
Awesome game. I love the implementation of perks, gives it a rogue-like vibe. Controls are very nice as well. Love the sounds and particle effects on magic. Not sure if it was intended but there was a point where an enemy spawned out of bounds of the game area. Overall though really liked playing it, I can see this really becoming popular in the future!
Thank you for playing and liking it!
I'm currently on a lot of playthroughs trying to reproduce this and other bugs that all other people reported but I simply can't find them myself ;/. About this bug, do you remember the level you were when it happened? Also, you've played it in which browser? Would probably help to have these information.
It was in level 1. Playing on the brave browser.
this was super neat! it feels pretty polished when playing, and its really fun trying to maneuver around the eyes using the platforms and the movement abilities you gain. the one issue is that i ran into was with levels tot completing (the doors don't always open). maybe i am just doing something wrong though. this is a little bit of a bummer since it prevents combining abilities to builds a bit. despite this but the game is really awesome! i think if this bug gets smoothed out you have a really fantastic game!
Thank you for playing my game, that bug is still mysterious for me, I couldn't replicate it yet but I'm determined to find it.
Thank you for your feedback!
I really like the idea - reminds me of something like Vampire Survivors.
I wish the magic automatically fired since I'm justholding down the shift key anyways. I like how this changes the formula so that it's platforming around the obstacles "eyes".
I got stuck with the shooter eyes not properly coming into frame. I would love to see how stacking effects changed the magic!
Thank you for playing!
The idea was to slow you down while you were casting to add more complexity to your decision of casting or not, but I couldn't add that in time.
I'm sorry a bug happened with you, can you give me more details on how it happened?
Cool idea and good execution. There's an overall lack on contrast though that can make the game harder than it should be but it's a good game and idea, jumping feels pretty good and the perks are cool to play with. Good job! I was stuck at Level 2 after killing the Eye though, but, climbing up there wasn't any way of getting out of that level but maybe I missed something!
Thank you for playing!
Yes, I'm thinking of adding an outline with a light color to the characters or make the wizard color customizable (or both, idk).
If you can, could you elaborate on how you got stuck?
So I killed the enemy in Level 2 but I didn’t see any exit for some reason like I did in level 1. Might be a one time bug, I’ll play again later and definitely let you know. But it was really fun to play!
And yeah the contrast is missing for me at least, outlining or changing colors a bit to better distinguish everything will definitely feel better!
