Thank you so much, hopefully you get a high ranking, highly deserved!

Super happy you liked it! Thank you for taking the time to listen :)

I'm super grateful for the long reply!

I didn't catch your discord but a sound engineer dm-reachable YES PLS! xD

A lot of good points, thanks for all the context!

When I meant doing right or wrong, it's mostly in the context of like you said lack of experience. The setup is all new and I'm new to mixing, so there's definitely a lot of listening like you said that needs to be done to become just better at knowing how to make the right decisions (even though like you said, there will always be subjective choices).

Thanks for the great write up and recommendations, I really appreciate it!

Thank you for taking the time to listen after the jam, I really appreciate it!

Me being an inspiration to anyone is a big BIIIIIG compliment considering I’m a month and a half in my learning journey 🤣

I’m super happy you jammed to the vibe, I tried to make something simple but that would stick a bit lol.

Thank you for the awesome feedback, you made my day!

Amazing thank you!! Like I said to another guy here, I learned to mix essentially the week of the jam (two courses) but I still can’t spot properly what is right or wrong (even though I could tell the guitar was too aggressive but was not able to tone down the brightness properly yet) the rest felt okay to me personally on my Beyerdynamics DT 1990 PRO + Sonarworks to flatten the response to apparently professional standard.
Soooooo…

TLDR; My ears are super bad xDDDD

Anyways I appreciate it, it really echoes what most people have said to me and I look forward to gain in experience so the mixes become more “competitive”.

I’m also thinking of getting maybe two more pairs of headphones to try and have some more feedback on different material, so thanks for the great detail on your setup!

Hey thanks for the great feedback, may I ask you what hardware you were listening my submission with just for reference?

it helps a ton thank you. I learned to mix this week with two concurrent courses. The goal of this jam was really to make a simple enough piece so I could focus all the work on learning and executing a mix from A to Z.

I think like you’re saying having a few other devices might help but yours is definitely not a problem.
But one thing that is as important or even more than that though is developing my ears and getting experience. I can learn to mix all I want, I need to mix more things and start developing a ear for what’s good or not, the foundations work well enough so that’s good, now only time and more work will help, and I think that’s still obvious considering how many people gave me great feedback on the current mix overall.

Thanks a ton again for all the great feedback, I’m spoiled to have access to people like you in the community so willing to help a noob ❤️

Could also ask with what hardware you listened to the song? I’m starting to think I might have to buy a few other things to listen through.
Right now I’m mixing with a Beyerdynamics DT 1990 PRO and with Sonarworks to have the best neutral reference sound possible, but I think it might be dentrimental for me to only listen through this for my mixes.

Thanks a ton!!

Thanks for taking the time to check the submission out and give me great feedback, I really appreciate it!

Hey thanks so much for the super nice feedback and taking the time to go through my Miro ramblings ahaha

Really happy you liked it!

That’s super nice of you thank you for taking the time to listen comment and go through the Miro :)

Awesome recommendation again, I feel like the jams are definitely gonna be a good way for me to learn fast since it’s quite varied already as it gives me the opportunity to apply stuff I’m learning.

Yea it’s true you’re a lot… of fun chatting with and definitely happy I can pick your brain ;)

Almost thought I’d get away without a good but that couldn’t happen xD

Thank you bro all the wonderful feedback, I’ll make sure to check AGM and thanks for taking the time to read that awefully long Miro board lol.

Thanks for the precise YouTube ref, I’ll check that out, I’ve yet to take Moulaka’s course but that will happen after vacation!

Also thanks for teaching me what an alert break pattern is ahahah, it just felt right at the time after feedback by Pixcele to make sure that nothing starts or stops abruptly during a song, that’s where I got the idea of continuing some percussion after the first break and adding the little bass jam as a transition to the big part :)

Super happy you feel like I got some of it right at least and welcome your encouragement with happiness!

That’s absolutely nice of you, really happy to be an inspiration on anything lol. Maybe on the future we should work together 😂.

Kept the best for last <3

It's really good, love the mix of different instruments, it feels like it could be in the game.

I'm not sure I could hear the main theme anywhere, but other than that nitpick, everything is pretty much perfect.

Also just after listening, it went to Time To Sleep, and gosh it's so beautiful!!!

It's great! It's a shame I don't hear the theme throughout the piece, this would be one of the best tracks of the jam all around. It might be a tiny bit too "dark" in a way but I like it and I feel otherwise it could be in the game, maybe not New Horizons, but maybe the next installment.

Amazing job!

Great use of AI, that was fun!

This is pretty good, like the call and response very much, albeit it becomes a bit repetitive by the end, but that can be not a bad thing for a background track. I wish there were a bit more times with less instruments to add some breathing room in the track.

It's a shame you didn't have more time though specially on the mixing part, all the instruments sound overly dry and super bright, it's quite aggressive and I know what I'm talking about, I spent a week trying to tame my guitar's brightness with no success x_x

Overall good job, just needs more time to cook!

Really good, I wish there was a bit more time with less instruments to get a bit more breathing room specially on background music. But this is definitely one of the highlights of the jam.

Very cool and minimal while still being interesting enough. I bit on the low volume side but it's pretty good! Congrats on the good track!

Thank you so much for the great review and the kind words!

The guitar was a problem for the whole week, I ended up with this as a compromise but of course it lost dynamics, it’s just that it was overwhelmingly bright and couldn’t find a way to make it sound rounder properly. It’s a shitty basic VST from NI, but it had one feature that was nice, as it played chords with one or 2 keys combined. I don’t know how to write for guitar with midi yet so that was helpful. Had done some guitar playing by ear 15 years ago, I kind wished I could have access to one now with the right recording setup, I feel I would have been more free with my writing that way :)

But yeah couldn’t tone down that big brightness but it was an awesome learning experience, I’m more gearing towards orchestral so this was a nice curveball and a good opportunity to learn the basics of mixing. I was somewhat successful with that and credibility so I’m happy 😊

Thanks again for the kind words!

Thank you  for listening and leaving your comment !!

Thanks a ton really appreciate it!! That’s definitely the vibe I was going for and tried to make sure the melody was catchy enough. Glad you liked it!!

Thanks for the nice words, I appreciate it!!

Yes, I actually didn't manage to properly tone down the brightness of a few instruments indeed. Tons to learn still :)

Thank you for the feedback <3

Really nice submission. Could work as a beach sport definitely soundtrack for sure like Aurélien said. Great job!

Thank you for the encouragement!

Hey Federico, super happy you got to be here too!

Mix isn’t perfect buts worlds better than in Tsuya, so the course payed out, still need to learn more and be more rigorous with volume of certain instruments though. Thank you for the super kind feedback!

haha yeah I liked the shaker pan, it gives the track some sway I felt. Mixing course was only half the battle, now I need to train my ear and make better choices! Thanks for the feedback!!

Thank you! I actually feel some of the ost songs were way more complex and full then mine ahaha

I took the most influence from the official 12pm  ost song, give it a spin if you can you will enjoy it a ton :)

Thank you for the feedback really appreciate it!

thank you for the feedback. For the synth I used the closest one to the one present in the original 12pm track in the ost so I’m pretty happy with that. The guitar is a big issue though and I couldn’t quite get the brightness out, and volume actually muted it too much. I definitely need to work that next time.

I really appreciate you taking the time to give me solid feedback though thank you so much!!

And thank you for the super kind words 🙏

thanks for the great feedback, ultimately I couldn’t get the brightness off the guitar properly but it was a great process to go through, need more work ❤️

😭😭😭
