Jam Host

Please use this form if you'd like critique on your game!

Game Title/URL: Self-explanatory.  Link your game here.

Pitch/Information: A short description of the game.

I'd like feedback on: You can put a list, questions, or description of what you would like critique on. Can be "anything!" if you're not looking for anything specific.

I need help on: Optional; remove if unnecessary, but if you have a specific problem or bug that you would like help or advice with solving, put it here!

Game Title/URL:  A Game of Jam

Pitch/Information: A Game of Jam is an action-adventure game. The once peaceful country of Jamia has been been conquered by the evil Lord Evil. You are Jamia's last hope. Will you be able to find the seven sacred jars of jam, and defeat the evil Lord Evil before he does something even more evil? Will you be able to restore a peace that will last until the release of the sequel?

I'd like feedback on: Anything, but specifically looking for feedback on the game engine. I would like to know about erratic or strange behavior. I would also like to know if the player is moving too fast / too slow, or the monsters are moving too fast / too slow. If the monsters are too difficult or too easy to hit. Is there anything that is difficult to understand about the game? What are the best / worst parts?

Game Title/URL: A matter of opinion: PRIDE / https://deexenigma.itch.io/a-matter-of-opinion-pride

Pitch/Information: An experimental platformer where you, as the character, explore more / less positive worlds. While you're jumping and running your way over and around monsters you can take time to reflect what pride is to you and how you define it to yourself. The game is a prototype first effort in the platforming genre. It uses a few tricks and ideas I'd devised to more test out the platformer genre than make a solid platformer itself. Not to say the gameplay should be bad.

I'd like feedback on: Specifically I'd like feedback on world design and how you 'felt' about the overall title. Did the concept the game tries to convey work for you? Did you understand why certain things were happening within the game. Did the visual art style meet the needs of the game etc.

I need help on: If you think there's something fundamentally wrong about my game design or how it functions I'd love to hear how to do better.

https://wudgeous.itch.io/pinkmatch

Go on dates to learn about humans!

❤ Everyone's going to adore you. ❤

Pinkmatch is a visual novel and dating sim. You play as an android, on a quest to exhibit socially intelligent behavior.

It's my first real attempt at exposing my work and making something public. I'm admittedly still terrified and nervous as all heck, but I'm doing my best to power through!

Any comments will be treasured and kept forever.  ❤ But if you need ideas on what to write, here are my suggestions:

  • How did the characters make you feel?
    • Did you prefer speaking with anyone in particular?
  • What was your favorite part of the demo?
    • For example; this could be a memorable comment, or a scene that made you laugh.
  • What features would you like to see in a full release?
    • Is there a feature you'd thought the game would have,  but did not see in the demo?
  • How much time did you spend playing the game?
    • Did you get the bad ending?  ;)

With all my soggy love,

Wudgey.

I'd like feedback on: All feedback is welcome but looking for feedback on how the game mechanics feel within the game, if visual style matches the  concept and  diffulty of the level.

Game Title : Float Defense

Pitch/Information: A Side-scroller, object defense, with a cheap difficulty coming from a 0.7 stagger timer that allows multiple zombies to chain damage on you.

I'd like feedback on :

-BUGS, It was my first time coding a state machine, so i found a whole bunch of bugs, most of em fixed but I'm sure there are more than I'm aware off, some examples would be, if you jump next to the float you can push it quite a remarkable distance (unsolved) another would be when you took damage in a stagger sometimes under certain conditions you would be stuck red (solved), and on the html upload it you quit the game with the button on the screen it would do nothing, but the game would remove the weapon hit box and some other stuff (hence why it's disabled on the html5 export)

I need help with :

- Transferring Velocity on to a moving platform in Godot, i wanted to make it so you run over the float, but It had to be a Kinematic body to be able to implement the movement of the float with means the float is no longer static but subject to the artificial physics, I just think that there's a way with an Area2d node to pass the float's velocity to the character whenever he's on the float and to make an unpushable platform with a constant velocity in one direction in a top down side-scroller

-How to get an enemy death sound to play once when multiple enemies are killed at the same time

Howdy y'all!

Game Title/URL: Egress

Pitch/Information: A sci fi visual novel about dating a girl in a dystopian society.  Featuring some phylosophic themes, questions, choices and humor, I hope. Explore the bleak society of Egress, where most manual labor has been adopted by androids and its inhabitants stay on a state of almost stasis.

I'd like feedback on: I'd be interested mostly on critique on the story, but anything is welcome, production, visual style, etc. I'd like to know if the points I wanted to make came accross and if the story was interesting enough to push the player until the end.

Game Title/URL: Gun Smith

Pitch/Information: A first person shooter where you can customize your own gun with different modifications (for example, iron sights or a lucky charm). There are 9 levels in total with multiple "boss battles" and different modification values (basic, uncommon and legendary). The modifications that enemies drop are random, but you cannot get a legendary modification from earlier levels, or a basic one from the last levels.

I'd like feedback on: Basically anything, but especially the gameplay and the modification variety, as they were the things that I focused on a lot.

Game Title/URL: The Mess

Pitch/Information: Pour yourself some tea, make yourself comfortable and sink into the most frustating story ever.

It's a visual novel about a girl who tells a story of her life during psychologist session. As a player you can choose things she's going to tell, which will impact the story, write your own name and name the rest of the crew.

I'd like feedback on: well, pretty much everything; how ddi this game make you feel?

Game Title : Last Line

Information : Last Line is a tower defense game in which we need to protect human pride from the robots attack. It's a fast paced simple tower defense game but challenging at the same time.

I'd like feedback on : The gameplay. Does it make sense? And is it at least fun to play? Or anything else that comes to mind when you're playing it. Thank you very much!

Game Title/URL: Through the Eye of Innocence: https://itch.io/jam/my-first-game-jam-summer-2019/rate/447350

Pitch/Information:  [Content Warning: Mild Horror Elements} Through the Eye of Innocence: You are a young Cyclops girl who has the amazing gift to drain unhappiness from anyone. Unfortunately, one day that power is rendered useless by an eldritch being. What will you do? What CAN you do?

I'd like feedback on: The platforming physics. I've never done a platformer before, and any tips you may have would be much appreciated. I've been told my controls are "floaty," so I'd like as many people as possible to comment on the physics.

Game Title/URL: Mission Squeak- https://snuti.itch.io/mission-squeak

Pitch/Information: Mission squeak is a third person, dog stealth game, where you get to play as a Chihuahua, who has to infiltrate the Garden of Moritz (who is a Cairn Terrier), to take his pride and joy, the legendary Squeaky toy of all squeaky toys (with unlimited squeakiness).

We'd like feedback on: All feedback is welcome but we would love to hear back about the difficulty of the levels. We didn't have enough time to playtest this element, and testing our game when we know all the mechanics makes it way too easy! :P
