I think the game would benefit from an objective either in the form of a score of finite lives but it's fun to play as it's punchy with perfect controls, the appropriate speed of bullets and engaging sound effects.

Somehow with so many things happening on the screen without anything blinking sometimes it almost feels too sharp, too smooth, too fast for a NES game ;).

Holy cow! That's a dang nice game for four days. Super great work. Haha very nostalgic feel for me, classic space shooter that makes me hate the dang baddies for blowing me up so much. :D

I really liked this game. The gameplay is so good, and the progressive difficulty makes the game very engaging. I appreciate that an extra life is given when the difficulty increases, which helps a lot and prevents the gaming experience from becoming tedious. The fun factor is truly well achieved here. I reached the final boss without even realizing it because I was so hooked. Very good game.

Pretty cool game, glad that in this jam there was some old school shmup representation. They dynamic difficulty is a pretty cool idea although I don't know if it actually was changing much, although that could be just because I wasn't getting hit a lot. I think a score system would greatly improve the game if you were to decide to implement one as it would create more of an incentive to raise the difficulty, but that's just my thoughts. Good job, especially given you only had 4 days to work on this!

This was really good and very NES to make the reward for killing everything to raise the difficulty. I appreciate the infinite lives otherwise i would not have been able to beat it. Liked the graphics and animation a lot.

Thank you!  Constantly increasing difficulty kinda needs infinite lives.  The player getting hit is part of the process.
