Very, very impressive for your first game in a new engine! Love the writing. Love the strong outlines on the sprites ... gives it a unique, bold look. :D

Super strong entry for me! Great logo. Great color palette. Easy to understand mechanics. Full options screen and credits screen. Just a dang-great jam game. Your hard work paid off. You can just see the attention of detail oozing out of the pixels.

OMG all five stars for me. Love the design, logo, and NES box graphic. Having three characters with adorable squeak sounds just pushes it over the top for. One of my favorite games of the jam. Good luck!

I like the mash up of genres happening here! Cute concept and feels very NES-y to me. Definitely worth continuing to iterate on, if that's your sort of thing! :D

This is a lovely, nicely-complete platformer. I appreciate that you got so many mechanics working! Ladders, moving platforms, multiple enemies, items, etc. Definitely a nice gam jam scope and result! :D

Cute game for sure. I love the multiple characters and the bold pixel art. :D

Love the simple speed runner! The higher jump is really challenging and it might be good to tweak the params to make it a touch easier. But overall a solid entry!

Thanks for taking a look! Your game is my favorite of the jam so far. :D

Wow thank you thank you for all of your thoughtful feedback. I really appreciate it! I'm working on a new version that fixes some of these issues and expands the game. Good luck with the jam!

Nice start to your project! Happy that you got something submitted even in demo form. Deadlines are so useful to keep a project moving forward. Excited to see where you take this!

hey Clark! If you get a sec, could you tell me what browser and os you're using?

Love the feel of this one. The start screen has the perfect feel and the controls very authentic. :D

Now that's some cool laser roller blading. Love the palette and the 80s graphic design, and the game is easy to understand and play. :D

What a great start! I LOVE the concept for this game. Please finish it! :D

Best pixel art I've seen yet in the jam. Pitch perfect sounds and NES feel!

Okay I love this. All five stars x 4! So silly and fun. The meta game is the best ever. But there are things I must know in a future sequel. Why do tiny fish bother my crab so much? Who's the creep in the monacle? Is that my dad? Is that why mom is so uptight and so distracted she can't see the TV's on? Hahahaha. One of my favorites of the jam so far.

My favorite part is the avatar and his animations. Super cute and fun to run around. This is a great start to a game and with some more time to work on it I think it would be really engaging.

Holy cow! That's a dang nice game for four days. Super great work. Haha very nostalgic feel for me, classic space shooter that makes me hate the dang baddies for blowing me up so much. :D

I forgot castlevania has those weird staircases. Haha. Lots of nostalgic feel, amusing sound effects and perfectly stiff animations that felt just right. Very strong NES feel for me. Nice work!

This game is cute and awesome. I love that the controls feel so tight and enjoyed trying to get combo bounce-hits on the froggies. Nice work!

Super ambitious and impressive project. So nice to see such a complete game with a custom engine, 'specially Javascript cause that's my favorite, too. Good luck with the jam, and thanks for being so engaged on the Discord!

Oh wow wow what a beautiful game! The fog darkness thing is so cool. I at least haven't seen that mechanic and it makes everything so spooky. Well done.

Great level design and adorable animations. Very simple gameplay to understand but not to master, which is perfect for an NES Jam. This one is going to rate super high!

I love detective games! A great start. I hope you'll keep working on it! I did run into a thing that seemed like a bug on the web build. (I'm on a mac and Godot web builds don't seem to like mac all the time.) After I opened the 1st door, the left half of the screen went black for me and I couldn't see the UI. Hopefully something you can track down and fix. Thanks! :D

This is one of my rare games I think I'll expand after the jam. Original idea has many alternate endings. So we'll see haha.

Why oh why do we have to kill the guys? I agree that should be optional. :D

I have not seen Solstice, so nope, not inspired by that one. Thanks so much for playing!

Nostalgia overload! Reminds me of TigerHeli which is a game I was obsessed with as a kid. Spot on sfx and music, too. Really nice entry.

This game has a lovely sense of humor and a really solid set of mini games. Loved it! Nice work.

Hey Sam! I need a few minutes of ambient music for my game idea, which is a spooky kind of underwater escape room set in a submersible. Is that something you might be into? You can see my stuff at hugbug.itch.io. I'm on the discord as Hugbug if you wanna DM me there, or reply here I suppose. :D

Hope you're having a great day!

Loved the combo of the rhythm game with a story and platformer to boot! Nice entry. :D

Very charming game with lots of polish. It's hard but not too hard, which feels very NES like to me. Super solid entry.

Nice gambling game there, and it made me giggle every time the whisper voiceover popped in. I bought myself some nice graffiti and had a good little streak going there for a bit. Alas, I pushed my luck too far. Hahaha.

You're such an awesome, supportive member of the community, through all of the rounds! It's been excellent to get to know you a little on the Discord, and I really, really appreciate your positive attitude and "go team" approach. GDKO is a great group of people and I'm so glad I stumbled into the group. Here's to making friends and learning together! We've all grown so much and experiencing the sheer variety of games and clever ideas has been really helpful in my gamedev journey. Thanks for everything, Evengy!

Hey another lovely game! I like poker and it was a nice exercise of my card brain to try to think fast and do the most efficient moves. The card animations / physics were very well done, with a kind of relaxing casual vibe throughout.

I've learned a LOT from playing your games. Your approach to game design is very cool and very different from my own, and that's the best way to see outside my little habits and appreciate a different way of looking at mechanics. It's been awesome hanging out through GDKO and it's been an honor to go through these rounds with you. Best of luck in all your future endeavors, and I look forward to staying connected on Discord.

I've become a huge Crunkle fan over all of these months. They've stood out for me in every round with their consistency and real sense of homely, weird dread. I'm a sucker for gameboy style games and your art style is AMAZING.

This one is another great entry and uses the theme in so many different ways.

GDKO has been a super rewarding experience, and it's been so awesome to get to see your games through all of the rounds. You've got my vote for winning it! Hope to stay in touch. See ya around the Discord. :D

This is an engaging and unique game. I loved the subtle animations and sense of urgency. Haha funny for a snail race. Got my heart pounding when the baddies would sneak up on me. The balance of when to upgrade vs. when to save money for betting is really nice. Great that you were able to find assets that worked and held together.

It's been such a great pleasure jamming alongside you all of these months! You're a naturally talented game designer with clever ideas and your own sense of style, too. Looking forward to staying in touch. :D

This is so good. Nice concept and easy to play. Make more! :D

Thanks for playing! There are a few more rooms after the dungeon bars, but not much. Haha. I added a little hint to the itch page in the instruction manual.

“To unbar the dungeon,

who’ll pass the test?

Up up down down,

you know the rest.”

My best score so far is $5112. Is this game too hard?

Yeah sure, happy to help if I can. I sent a friend request. :D

Thanks so much for letting me know!
