Good mechanic! It's surprisingly difficult to mentally switch from wanting to defend/let them in, but it has a good addictive quality. Nice work!

Maybe one thing you can try: Announce the transition with flashing the invert effect.

This is an easy concept, but it's surprisingly hard in practice! Although the game is very bare visually, it feels quite intuitive to play and the sound design is excellent (although again very spare!) There are nice touches, such as the transition into the game from the start screen, too. This is well done for something seemingly so simple at first! A little more attention paid to aesthetics wouldn't change the gameplay at all but would turn it into a fully fledged game, I think. Nice one.
