Greate game for a godot project, it feels like a smash of the forest and minecraft. nicely done

Developer

Minus any mobs, and I'd say that's pretty accurate.  I wanted to add in a couple animals, but that would've eaten up too much time animating them.  Thanks for giving it a try.

nice one,, you added collision to every thing,, i think it is normal to clip through some object,, i was made when a little marshmalo was able to stop my run,, and that small green stuff

but i liked,, and it is enjoyable

Developer

The collisions still need some work, definitely.  Most of the objects just have cube shaped collisions associated with them, as a target for the raycast to interact with.  I'll try making some of them clippable, just not sure if that will make them where you can't interact with them, either.  Thanks for download and feedback.

i mean cube collision is fine,, for the performence and stuff, you can just add difference layers, like colactable layer and obstacle layer,, than make the raycast interact with just the colactable, and you can combine them or use them seprately, so the player can walk over a cube collision, but the ray steal able to detect the colactable

I liked this, it was a very good start. I did notice some issues, though. There were many objects that it would not let me pick up even though I could pick up the same types of object elsewhere. Sticks and mushrooms were the biggest culprits. When I would right-click on some of them, it would just tell me that I "can't remove the ground". Also, when using a tree or stump, it places the object back down in an upright position, even right through a furnace, which makes no sense. Finally, when you exit the crafting menu, the game does not return to mouselook mode. You have to click first. Automatically switching would be more useful. Overall, though, I enjoyed my time in the world.

Developer

I tried to make it recapture focus, but it never did work out the way I wanted.  The crafting was supposed to update upon making an item, as well, but that also got buggy to polish up.  As for the objects not being removed, you have to be within the chunk to collect the object.  I wanted to fix that, but ran out of time before even getting a chance.  Good to hear you got as far as crafting a furnace, though.  Thanks for trying it out and giving feedback.

Neat procedurally generated world/environments. Allowing the user to use their own seed is a great touch.

Developer

Thanks for noticing the editable seed.  As simple of a mechanic as it is, it was one of my favorites to implement, and had been planned since the project started.  Also, thanks for trying and commenting.

I really like the look of this game! just one issue... hmm it doesn't seem to want to let me leave XD I have to keep playing this game forever! but seriously, I believe this could be developed further, it has the look of a professional game already. Maybe you could add a building mechanism or something. I reckon that would be pretty cool!

Developer

Thank you very much.  Esc will open the in-game menu, sorry I forgot to mention that on the page.  Building was a hope, but I ran out of time for the jam.  This project is certainly going to be developed further, and I'm open to suggestions if you have them.  Thanks for the time and trying out my game.

Is this procedurally generated? The visuals are very appealing and the game shows a lot of potential if further developed! I also love that you use godot, the best engine! :D

Developer

Yes, the world is based off of the seed in the options menu.  Thanks, I made everything myself, other than the engine, of course.  Yeah, Godot is quickly becoming my favorite developing environment.  I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for taking the time to try it out.

I got this error. It was a simple fix to rename the .pck file, but figured I would let you know about it so you can update your release. This was for the linux version, I'm not sure if the same problem exists with the windows version.

After I solved the problem on my own, game play was interesting and has lots of potential!

Fixed.  Thanks for the input and trying it out.
