This was a blast to play and a great idea for a rhythm based game!

I think if you polish this game some more you could have a really good thing going!

Only two issues:

1. The spikes are a little hard to see because I'm so focused on the red dot (this may have been due to my screen size or something but wanted to share).

2. The game just sort of ends for me. Not sure if this is a bug in my browser or something else.

Developer

Not a bug, i didnt have time to program a reset button and figure out the highscore save system better. I seriously did wanna finish this game before i released this build but i was on a heavier time crunch cause exams so i had only this much ready

I totally get it, I had the work week start and had to cut some features.

Nice little rhythm game. Lovely graphics and music. I would have liked more beats so it's more challenging but not a big problem. As for bugs the character sometimes stays white after taking damage. Overall good job.

Developer

I still am not entirely sure how to fix that tbh

The music is very cool, I don't know if it only happens to me but I always associated the directions to the side of the tree where I want to be and it failed a lot for that hahaha, on the other hand, its retry button was missing and something that It will indicate how much is left for the game to end. Bravo, thanks for sharing your game.

There some technical issues, game doesn't punish for spamming keys. It forces player to ignore rythm if he aims for higher scores. Game lacks some kind of finishing sequesnce. Sprites and music fit nicely for concept of hardworking woodcuter(I'm only afraid of what post-apo in tags means :D). Nice game for starting your adventure with jams.

Developer

The idea was that the spikes was the punishment for spamming keys. Cause when you get to faster sounds, it becomes very difficult to both manage a perfect rhythm and then also making sure you arent running into the spikes so i decided it was for the better not to give a perfection system to it

Also i do not remember why i put post apo, i think i was too tired when choosing the tags XD

Fun rhythm game. I like the graphics and gameplay and the game has a cool concept. My main suggestion is to add harder difficulty modes. Rhythm games are especially fun when they are challenging.  Also, it might be nice if there was a sound and animation to indicate that the player pressed the button at the wrong time.

Developer

Wanted to add more difficult songs but it was way too much time charting. time i didnt have sadly.

Can't seem to figure out the keyboard controls. Dude doesn't move or chop anything. Need some controls instructions please.

The keyboard controls worked just fine for me. Since it's a rhythm game, you're supposed to press the arrow keys when the white circles on the right side of the screen reach the big red circle.
