Things I liked:
The premise:
Playing as the mothership instead of the fighter is a really cool idea.
The artstyle:
The assets you chose worked well.
The menu:
A full menu is always nice.
Things I disliked:
Most fighters seemed pretty useless, the only thing that seemed to work were the wheels.
Synopsis:
A very interesting game in need of improvement.
Thanks for your entry. :)
I ike the premise of the game, the idea is original. You spawn waves and waves of different ships and can buy improved ships. The idea is interesting and it is fun for a while but gets boring quickly. This game needs some kind of progression feel. Another thing is most of the ship we spawn move very slowly and it's very hard to shoot enemy ships.
I really liked this game entry! I kinda thought of it as an inverse space invaders, which is quite unique, honestly.
Graphically, I thought most everything worked well with each other. Perhaps the beams of light on either side of the screen were a little bright, but that’s really just my personal opinion.
The music fit quite nicely as well! Maybe a few more pew pew sounds. I know the enemy is constantly firing, but even a soft or distant sounding pew pew to both the enemy as well as my own ships would have added just that little extra. Regardless, the lack of those sounds didn’t ruin anything for me.
Over all, I thought this was an excellent entry!
If you’re interested, I played this game during a live stream.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll check out the stream.
I had thought about a sound for the shooting, but I didn't add it because I personally wouldn't have liked a continuous pew pew. (Although an option to adjust it's volume would have fixed it.)
Awesome concept, I made it to level 9 before I finally lost. Art and music mesh very well. Great work!
Looks very cool, nice bit of variety in the ships you can spawn. Good job!
Good fun! Overall a well made game. However, I mostly spammed the mouse button. It was hard to find a winning strategy. Sometimes it looks like the collission detection between the bullets and the attacker is not working properly. I reached level 6 before the aliens were sadly defeated by the eartling.
The collision issue is with the bigger enemy ships? I made the hitbox a bit smaller than the ship to make it easier for it to dodge, but it doesn't actually say that anywhere :)
I also noticed that in the Advanced Mode there is less strategy, to correct it I had an idea to modify the spawn system to spawn different aliens from 2 or more spawn points but I wouldn't have made it time for the jam end. It's one of the things I would like to improve in a post jam update.
