This is my submission for #OSTCompJam 4, "Runaway".
I wanted to create an ominous soundtrack that builds to show the different experiences the character experiences on their journey. The track begins feeling hopeful with emotional undertones as the character looks lost and unsure of where they will go.
As the track progresses, the character experiences conflict as they traverse through the forest. The character prove himself worthy and can relax as the track returns to a peaceful version of the main theme. Finally, the track closes out with the main theme building to a triumphant ending.
I hope you enjoy my submission! I had a lot of fun working on it and hope to participate in more of these composer jams.

Epic! Beautiful piano melodies and powerful chord progressions. This is totally my kind of soundtrack! There's tons of interesting stuff going on in the upper register, and I think it could sound even more epic with some bass notes filled in - like having a deep sub play the root of each chord. Then I'd be blasted out of my chair and through the wall. Great work!
Very well put together. Tangible change from happier vibes to a more gloomy and menacing atmosphere as the drums kick in. I could really picture a game scene going with this. Thanks for sharing!
Nicely executed, good arrangement, awesome dynamics and composition. Only complain, piano velocity is super loud its almost doing some distortion, you'll have to tone it down a notch imo. Other than that, well done !
Great composition everything sounds very cohesive and the strings sound great. I especially liked the piano. Great job!
Loving the main melody (the one that comes back to bite you in the end). I'll join other commenters in saying that I only wish there were more tracks to listen to ! You definitely master orchestrations and writing, would love to hear your ideas developped fully.
thank you! I will make sure to write more the next time a jam like this comes around
Very beautiful! The dreamy hue adds to the charm, and in some places it sounds dramatic. Well done
Love this! Awesome orchestration, and i love the story told through the music, especially with the build up and release at the end!
Thank you!
Beautiful composition and very well mixed! Really love that piano line.
Thank you so much!
Really impressed with how well the track is able convey its purpose with intent - the clean and uncluttered sound, the melody line - all comes together for a beautiful piece of music. Big congratulations here.
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words!
I have only one complaint. I wish there was more! :D
Really enjoyed this! There's some really addictive forward motion in that opening. It feels very energizing, propelling you forward.
I also quite like how during the quiet part before the final crescendo, you take the time to really drive home the theme again. It feels like we're about ready to go back home. And it's a very satisfying feeling at that.
Great job.
That’s what I was going for! Thank you! This is my first composer jam so I didn’t want to exceed 3 minutes. I’ll be sure to write multiple tracks next time 🙏
It was great! Short but sweet. :)
Well done! I really enjoyed listening to this!
Thank you! I am going to listen through the other submissions now and will start with yours 🙂
