Description
As soon as I saw the theme my mind got hooked on one thing – the beginning of a new sailing adventure! Possibly at night... hopefully under a starry sky........... It's up to the imagination!

I would imagine the game being some sort of a sailing game, which would include some exciting moments, like starting off, surviving storms and gazing a beautiful starry sky...

Just as my previous appearance on jam, I tried to create sort of a cinematic/orchestral feeling.

Tempo: 80 bullets per minute (careful with this one).

Creating for this jam was an experience, because due to certain matters, I was very short on time for making this track from ground up. Took me half a day to finish it (goddamn midterms).

Track made in Reaper DAW.

Theme:

Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I generally thought of sailing, when I saw this picture, and such my track would depict a beginning of a journey.

I really like the depth of the music, there is a lot to it that doesn't feel overwhelming. It slowly grows and expands into this amazing piece. It feels bittersweet and heroic, embarking on this unknown voyage!

This is pretty good stuff!  I love that driving groove you have going with the orchestral percussion sounds.

Thank you, much appreciated!

The opening interval feels quite adventurous, and your instrumentation choices help set the scene on the open ocean. I like that your track progresses forward constantly without feeling too stagnant. My favorite part is the mallet instrument you use that has lots of delay which adds an element of spacey-ness to your ocean adventure to help fit the picture theme. Way to make something with the limited time you had! Thank you for sharing!

Really nailed a somewhat dark nautical feel with those horns and percussion. Perfectly matches the picture. Nice work!

Nice job! Really enjoyed the drum sounds you used on this, they really made the track exciting.

Developer

Thank you! Glad to hear I managed to pull off properly sounding drums.

I really loved how the harmony broke out at 50sec - nice!

The ending is nice, too how it drops and fades. Really appreciated this song.

I could see this being a great theme for an open world nautical game that just keeps unveiling new discovers.

Thank you for the feedback! Appreciate it. :)

Apt seafaring tune - the quality of the track is good, but maybe a little repetitive and could be even stronger with some additional variation within the song itself.

Developer

Thanks! Appreciate it. Really gotta work on that...
