Description
A voyage across the vast open sea, what may lie ahead is unknown. The dangers and beauty of the darkness are captivating.
Message from the artist:
Thank you for supporting my music, and best of skill to all other artists out there! This was incredibly fun and among one of many steps in a direction I hope to follow.
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
The music fits with both themes. It does this by captivating the audience with the hope of a better time, a wish, but it is soon overturned by the darkness of the sea. The sea is a dark and lonely place where only the stars are visible, but hopefully, your wish can help you find a better place. As there are many stars in the night sky, you may see many that fall to our world, so there is a lot of repetition for the stars we have dull wishes towards.

This was nice! I like the dissonant chords you went for in the first song, really gives it that solid classical orchestra vibe.
Dissonance is very nice so I love working with it :D
Call of the Pitch Black Sea: Beginning and ending with the timpani sets the tone for the dark nature of your soundtrack. The intervals you use are also unsettling and dark, making the sea seem malevolent and unforgiving.
Ripples on the Stream of Time: I felt the glimmers of hope at the beginning of this track, but over the course of it, it slowly faded back to the dark and somber feeling. My favorite part of this song is the part where the french horns start by playing a note and many other instruments take turns playing the same note after like a crescendoing echo. I also like the faint twinkling in the background that almost seems like I’m imagining it when I hear it.
Whispers of the Starry Scare: I love when the piano enters on that sweet rolled chord. The vibe I get from this track is more of a pensive nature than the previous two. The choir sounds give an added ethereal quality to this track. The occasional dark chord keeps reminding me that if I get too relaxed, the sea will put me in my place. These three tracks work really well together to create a beautiful and haunting orchestral story. Good work and thank you for sharing!
Your comment means a lot to me, and I am grateful you took the time to write something so kind. There are little things I added for effect and I'm surprised it was noticed. I wasn't necessarily going for a haunting or an unforgiving sea, but I am really glad those feelings were able to be drawn through the music.
The intro really sounds like an old dark movie! I love the dissonances in it and the ambiance that emanates from this very cinematic track. Very good opening for a story with a mysterious scene! The second track evoke something more dreamy and charming but still has this intriguing feeling. The last one feels etheral and reflect the sky in a dark way.
The whole OST is consistent in terms of identity and that's a great thing as I could imagine a world with a lot of landscapes and stuff :)
Thank you very much, those are some of the feelings I was going for exactly some of the feelings you described, so it makes me grateful other people can recognize it as well.
This is fantastic, I hope you can find a real orchestra to play it as that would be awesome to hear!
That is a dream that I will one day turn into reality!
Good Orchestra work! It's something i hope to get better at one day but this was awesome to listen to someone who has great skill at it. I really like the end bit of Call of the Pitch Black sea, it's powerful.
I believe in you!! It is incredibly fun, especially the more you do it. Thank you for the amazing comments as well:)
Lovely orchestration! I really enjoyed the various moods you built with each track. Great work!
Thank you so much :,)
Got Windwaker vibes right off the bat. Then it went off in it's own direction. Great orchestral work here. It all feels very solid.
Thank you! I have not yet played Windwaker, but listening to the sound track a bit and recognizing some of its praise, it means a lot.
Well done! My favorite is Ripples on the Stream of Time. It really gave the feeling of a voyage on the sea.
Ripples was originally the only one I had that fit the theme well, so I am glad that it was conveyed.
Call of the Pitch Black Sea: That Timpani intro creates immediate menacing atmosphere. For some reason this reminds me of 1950s Swords and Sandals movies.
Ripples on the Stream of Time: What a neat contrast to the first theme. Some of the menace is replaced with joyful notes here, but then it creeps back in.
Whispers of the Starry Sky: I am usually not a fan of endlessly repeating motifs, but in this case that harp in the first section is very effective painting a mystical picture. Very ethereal mood, especially when that choir comes in.
This is great orchestral work, very cinematic and immersive. Also good job naming the tracks, I find the titles really cool!
Your comments definitely are really amazing and I appreciate everything. Especially naming them was such a process to try and match the theme, I am thankful.
cool atmosphere!
Thank you, I am glad! :)
The first two songs do really make me think of the sea, they fit the theme well. And the last one is very nostalgic and dreamy. Nice entry!
Aah thank you, this comment soothes my worries, that is a similar feeling for what I was going for so I am happy it got across well.
"Call of the Pitch Black Sea" sounds like something I would hear in "Spirited Away".
I like the orchestral vibes, good composition.
Keep it up! :)
Thank you so much, "Spirited Away" has such an amazing soundtrack and hearing that makes me genuinely very happy.
