Description
I imagine this to be a PS era RPG, one title screen and one town theme. I used LMMS.
Message from the artist:
This is for a PS era RPG, one town theme and one title screen. I worked to use rhythm to illustrate the theme without being too repetitive.

Bonus points for the bunny profile picture!! ♥♥
Track 1: I like that the xylophone sound plays with the piano to give it a ticking sound. Good job coming up with a countermelody in the repeat to keep things fresh and meet your goal of not sounding too repetitive.
Track 2: This track starts out sounding like a lullaby from a music box. The chimes are reminiscent of a bell on a clock. The soft drums are a really nice touch. The melody from the saxophone is nice a sweet. The bVI, bVII, I cadence used toward the end gives it some classic video game flare before going back into the initial melody strong with the strings supporting it. Good work and thank you for sharing!
I appreciate that you didn't just create some loops and blast them at us for 3 minutes, there's definitely some compositional consideration being made here and you went places with these tracks. A lot of the entries to this jam have been heavy on timbre and light on composition, while yours is the other way round, I think - the best way to bolster a track like this is to start looking into ways to produce the track more, create a wider variety of tones and explore the space in terms of sound processing, stereo imaging, reverb, panning etc. That stuff is more about knowhow than talent, so imo you've figured out the hard part first.
Charming, minimalist tunes. :) I really liked the clock chime-like sound of the second track!
Very pleasing composition-wise! A lot of interesting progressions and melodies. It was also refreshing to see a simpler take on producing. I feel like your style could benefit a lot from picking more expressive instruments and careful velocity mapping/recording a human player.
I liked the general sounds of these tracks, the first one took me back to my early computer-playing days. Could definitely work as gentle game music.
