This has such a strong nostalgic vibe for me! The sounds you use are very nice and everything is well balanced throughout. Amazing job!!

Requiem: This has a really cool dark ambient groove. I love the ambient vinyl crackles which adds authenticity and antiquity to your music. The percussion is energized, but leaves room for you to think too much about Rattrapan chasing you - perfect for an upbeat horror track. I really like the sound of the plucky string instrument in the melody

Castle Iris (Day): Good use of similar sound and orchestration as the previous track. It sounds unique but flows very nicely. This is a very interesting ambient piece that would work well for the background of a game where the music enhances all the emotions of the gameplay as you are freaking out from anxiety as you are being chased!

Rattrapan Screams: It’s refreshing having a slightly different sound to this one, but the quality sounds very consistent with the two tracks before it. The percussion gives the sense of time ticking away and works well to support the theme.

Eternity Engine (Rattrapan’s Defeat): The bass line sounds mechanical which is a really cool effect. I like that you added a lot of variation in the percussion parts and gave us more than a simple drum loop. Very creative and immersive track! Great work overall and thank you for sharing!

This is awesome--I love the smooth transitions in the Requiem. And Castle has such a lovely build from contemplative (waiting) ramping up to intense and suspenseful. The Rattrapan Screams gives the enemy a sense of fun too, with the claps. Maybe it conjures the image of a swarm of minions coming after you too? The Eternity Engine is such a cool concept, and the sudden key shifts make me wonder if there's more to this story. The winding down of the ticking is so chilling too.

Wow you went all out with the backstory on this! I love Rattrapan Screams and Eternity Engine the best, really intense accompaniment for what I am guessing are Clock Tower style games of hide and seek. There’s a great sense of difference in each track, but they all sound cohesive together. Thick atmosphere and great instrumentation!

First off, love the effort and creativity you put into creating this cult classic "StayPlation" game. The soundtrack definitely feels like a PSX title, and I loved the ticking & winding down sounds prevalent throughout each track; especially in the intros and outros. Castle Iris is the standout track for me - it maintains a nice tension in it's atmosphere while still presenting some lovely piano work. It's complex and almost haunting. Overall, great soundtrack and excellent worldbuilding, nice job!

I think "Requiem" sounds very close to modern day trap, it would have been revolutionary back in 1996, haha! It's nice.

Mmm, beautiful, Castle Iris is good. About the theme: "haunting relentless ticking motif"? Nonono, what truly fits the theme here is the fact that if this was playing in the background, while being chased by a crazy dude I would have sh@t my pants. It's the sense of urgency and partially fear that makes it fitting. I like it. I think that without the piano it would have been even better. But that's personal preference.

Rattrapan had my head bobbing, his theme is fire. Maybe it doesn't fit the game genre perfectly but it's pretty fun.

Eternity Engine is well engineered in terms of sound design.

Reason is not dead! :D

Professionally made pieces with their specific vibe. I can easily imagine this music accompanying the game! Really good job!

I like how you take us into a parallel reality where this game actually existed as a kind of mysterious and never translated game!

The soundtrack is not that frightening but the atmosphere is haunting with a good use of reverb and sound effects. I can totally imagine a 90's PS game becoming famous years after for that disturbing story enlighted by it's musical atmosphere!

Great beats, great job :D

Wow. Simply Wow. this OST is... just WOW. Listening to it about hour and never gets old. And whole story about game is clever ^_^
Nice work!

Fantastic! This project is extremely creative, with what seems like a lot of effort that was put into it, and was done very well.

The story of and behind the game is very cool and interesting, and shows attention to detail unlike any i think i've seen so far. The production is fantastic, and the tracks are just long enough to get the most of the musical ideas without becoming fatigued.

It's very interesting how you went with very upbeat (not bright though) music for a horror game, but with the production it makes the music feel supernatural and therefore fitting the story.

Very cool, and i liked it a bunch!

I love the whole backstory you've created for this. And the music doesn't disappoint! It would 100% fit the kind of game you're describing. I love the dark, atmospheric, crunchy sound of it and it fits the theme well. Great entry!

  • This was really good on theme for sheer intentionality
  • Rattrapan felt a bit like a circus-y track compared with the rest; add funhouse mirrors for amazing boss battle?
  • This feels pretty much like what you meant it to--a lost horror adventure disc from the not-PSX PSX.

great work on this. you created this unique gothic-like world with this amazing soundtrack. its so chilling and unique compared to the other submissions ive listened to. great job overall. i can totally see these tracks being in a real video game.

I think you really achieved the vibe you were going for, amazing work overall!
Also loved the description, now I wish I could actually play it! Do you know where I could get an SPX...?

It's rare to see another Reason user.

In Requiem, I wasn't expecting this style of music. Very good use of inverted samples, they can be too sharp with too strong an ending sometimes. Yours are well mastered.

As for the others, I really like the percussion and the rhythm you've composed. On the other hand, I find it a little lacking in bass (no big bass) but I had the feeling there was an HP filter.

Otherwise, the whole story around the fake game is very creative and the game cover is very well done. In 1996, I could have bought it.

That's really great! Nicely done!

That intro caught me by surprise, and I love it! I thought it was going to go another way. The songs are also really good at making it feel otherwordly in a way. The reverb and effects help a lot!

I was completely immersed in the universe and the era you went for, I felt like playing an old ps1 Resident Evil game, this is crazy! Such creativity and variety in your different tracks. Amazing job!
