Description
Soundtrack is composed with Reaper DAW.

Concept soundtrack for a JRPG game. You are a human trapped in an eternal loop, fighting distorted versions of familiar characters from past timelines.

Track 1 - Forever Beginnings - Opening cut-scene. You are thrown into adventure and will soon awaken in the new world, but you are not yet ready for what will await you.

Track 2 - Happy World? - You wake up, and are met with friendly blob creatures. They have a weird way of speaking, but are genuine and willing to help.

---Later in the game---

Track 3 - Lament / Time Disease - You begin to realize what you got yourself into when talking to a distorted version of past adventurers, they begin to fight you. This fight is unwinnable, and the game resets when you are defeated, but now you have additional knowledge about the world from your past life.

Theme:

Tick Tock...

How does it fit the theme?
The character is trapped in a time loop and the music references that.

Forever Beginnings: The chromatic rise in the piano sets a creepy tone. Then going into the Twilight Zone motif furthers this effect. That big growly bass gives it that universe distortion vibe.

Happy World?: The beginning definitely sounds like a happy arcade game. The time signature then gets thrown off and I think that’s where the question mark comes in.

Lament/Time Disease: This intro creates a really dark atmosphere, that the string solo just adds more to. The choral elements sound like they were taken straight out of a haunted house. The drum beat creates a sense of urgency and anxiety that works along with the haunting vocal-like synths to make a great battle theme. The unwinnable nature of the battle makes it all the scarier! Great work on all of these. Thank you for sharing!

the theme was really well implemented in this submission! the breakbeat in "Lament / Time Disease", the a-tempo feel of "Forever Beginnings", and the odd time signature of "Happy World?" were all very unique takes on the theme, but you made them all work very well!

really enjoyed this composition :)))

Great take on the theme! I love distorted worlds in videogames. This music is perfect for that purpose.

My favorite part of this is definitely the beat switch in the final track, but I also like how the other two tracks build up to the revelation in the final one. Overall a very cool take on the theme

Happy World is very cute, made me happy ^^. Creative take on the theme.

That's great! Good job!

Love the break beats in the third track. It reminds me a lot of the Wonder Egg Priority OST, there's a few crazy amen break tracks. The atmosphere in the first track is great. Good job with this!

Developer

Thanks a ton! Huge fan of your work

I love the off-kilter feeling of each track, especially in track 2 (if I counted correctly I think it's in 9/8?)

Also, nice amen break in track 3.

Developer

Yes! It is indeed in 9/8

Listening through the entire soundtrack there were several moments of pleasant unexpectedness. I love the beat switch in Lament / Time Disease.

This is so good. The tempo and ticks in the first track are perfection. Track 2 was a temporary happy moment, but back into the horror feel with Track 3! Some cool breakbeat. Great work! Chord choices did a great job of setting a scary mood, and the texture work is amazing.

Developer

Thanks so much!
