Description
This is an imaginary orchestral soundtrack for the epic game about fighting the time.

Message from the artist:
First track, "In The Beginning Of The Time" was actually made for my second album, I was just finishing it when the Jam starts, and I decided to include it. It is about the infinity of the time and could be an intro for the game.

Second track, "Time Is Running Out" is a dynamic action theme.

Third track, "Everlasting Time" is a main theme of the game.

Fourth track, "This Moment Will Last Forever" is kind of an epilogue.

Theme:

Tick Tock...

How does it fit the theme?
This soundtrack fits the theme about our time, that is running out when we are still alive, the eternity of the time, and that we all don't have much time in this world.

  • well-chosen samples/instruments, heard a bit of what sounded like accidental distortion but might have been the streaming or the mix?
  • the commitment to using clock-like noises in your rhythms is impressive
  • that last one sounds almost (while it could be played as an epilogue over credits) it could also be pretty fitting for a more eldritch/alien area of a game
  • overall would probably fit well in a platformer or metroidvania with a more 'cinematic' soundtrack style

Thanks!

great work on the compositions overall. every track feels so cinematic and epic. great work although (imo) i feel like the mix could use some work. to me at least it feels like its missing that extra punch making it sound more "full"

Thanks anyway!

Every single one of these pieces carries a very strong emotional power that is difficult to find. I enjoyed them so much, amazing work!

Thanks! I really appreciate that!

In the Beginning of Time: The instrumentation feels quite epic with the low strings and the exotic flute. I imagine an action RPG game like Legend of Zelda fitting well with this soundtrack. The short strings keep the beat and feel like a ticking clock (I’m sure that was intentional, but it definitely came across clearly).

Time is Running Out: The shift in mood now gives us a sense of urgency. The string 8th notes with the epic war drums reminds me of some really cool music I heard in the Fire Emblem Three Houses game. It is awesome that you have a cohesive sound all the way through, but I don’t think I heard any one part repeated exactly, which makes the music feel alive and less like a robotic loop. My favorite part is the return to the epic driving string section just before the 3 minute mark.

Everlasting Time: The change to the pizzicato strings and the addition of the choir gives a notable character to the main theme of the game. Despite the minor key, the heroic qualities in this track shine through. I like the trade off of the main melody to the clarinet/bassoon and then the strings add back in. This is a really cool track and is my favorite of the four!

This Moment Will Last Forever: The beginning is quite pensive and makes me think that the story is not quite over yet. I like that you ended on a questioning note without everything feeling fully resolved.

Overall: Wow, this is a beautiful OST. This is one of my favorite submissions I’ve heard - it is so beautiful, on theme, unique, yet would fit very well in the game you describe. Excellent work and thank you for sharing!

You've made awesome submission too! Thanks a lot!

Very nice orchestration! Nice work.

Loved your RMXjam MoH track and i love these ones as well. Somehow i feel like these tracks would fit nicely in a real time strategy game (just giving those sort of vibes).

Developer(+1)

Thanks for listening and that you remember that RMX Jam! This MoH style track was my dedication for the main theme of the very first MoH game on PC (2002) about WWII, no one ever remembers about it, heh) dispite the fact, that it took 6-th place it was not included in the compilation album, maybe it was very different from other Jam's tracks, or I don't know why) Glad you like my work for this Jam too, thank you!

Beautiful orchestration, I believe the music speaks for itself, each track covneys the feelings that match the descriptions. I wonder what genre of game you had in mind!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! It might be something epic and philosophoc, like Shadow of The Collosus, maybe something in style of Diablo, or maybe something like Dark Souls style, this music could fit different stuff.

I am sorry for the late reply. Yes, I can see the OST fitting these games.

The thing that jumped out to me was how well you utilized dynamics. Really added tons of movement to the tracks and it felt like things were constantly moving.

Developer

Thanks! I did my best)

Incredibly well composed and performed music. The ticking, especially in the first track, was really well done. Also impressive to produce this much music of this quality. Really impressed!

Developer

I'm glad you're impressed! Thanks for listening and comment!

My life goal is to make orchestral tracks that sound this good! I love the direction you went with this stylistically, and I feel a nice sense of urgency throughout. The change up for the last track was interesting as well, but the clock sounds do a good job connecting everything together. Nice work!!

Developer

If you have such a goal sooner or later you will got it, the road will be mastered by the walking! I remember my first orchersral tracks, it was really piece of crap, but I thought that this is something really great) This happens becouse the things you create seems great just for you, just because you made it) Keep writing and you'll be getting better results with each try!

It's a truly epic soundtrack, it conveys the feeling of fighting against something invincible. Tension, fear, hope, it's all there. Good job!

Thanks for that!

In The Beginning Of The Time: So beautiful. The woodwinds that come in around 1:45 are perfection. Very nice natural minor harmony throughout.

Time Is Running Out: This percussion is great! The ticks fits in really naturally. Epic sound throughout.

Everlasting Time: The choir in this track really tells a story to me. Very pretty. The violins might have been a bit loud, but I know how hard it is to mix orchestral!

This Moment Will Last Forever: Wasn't expecting electronic instruments to show up! Very nicely done. Again the clock fits in great. Great production quality!

High quality orchestral! Really good job!

Developer

Thanks, maybe it's sometimes difficult to mix high frequences with my sony MDR7506 and the final mix gets too mush hights.

Loved the epic orchestration! "Everlasting Time" in particular gave me chills with its soaring melody and powerful drumbeats. Super cinematic, and your choice of instruments were on point. Just fantastic.

Developer

Thanks! Much appreciate to hear that!

Time is running out was powerful with that clock and the instrumentation getting more and more intense! As said below I think the panning on the clock is a super idea, it helps making it sound surrounding and worrying. The quality is top overall to me, great entry! :)

Thanks a lot!

Really well done! One of the best orchestral soundtracks from the jam! In my top 3 overall from now

Thanks, I appreciate that!

I got ARG vibes from this. Second and third tracks made me want to roll a ranged DPS class and go beat up some monsters with my pals. Enjoyed it.

Developer

Thanks, man!

A lovely OST. The last track (which is more of an ambient track) is very pretty.

The rhythm section of "Time is running out" is particularly powerful. And I love the subtlety of the ticking clock.

If I may be permitted a constructive criticism, the high-pitched sounds (flute, violins) seem to me a little loud and a little too prominent at times. Nothing crazy, but as you've done an excellent job, I'll allow myself to nitpick.

I really love the entire OST, especially In The Beginning Of The Time. Great work!
